  • WoW Ten Ton Hammer's Guide to Naxxramas

Our Naxxramas guide has now been completed with skills and tactics for all fifteen bosses. From Anub'Rekhan to Kel'Thuzad, we have every boss within this dread citadel covered. Never fear within this dread citadel no more, as Ten Ton Hammer has all the information you need to slay the Scourge and claim victory for Azeroth!

"Kel'Thuzad is the last boss within Naxxramas. You'd have to have slain every boss before Kel'Thuzad to even step foot within his chambers. He's the same Necromancer from the RTS games and is just as formidable. Except this time you don't have Jaina Proudmoore or any of the other heroes standing beside you. Only those who have plenty of Frost Resistance and gear from within Naxxramas dare even attempt to
    do battle with Kel'Thuzad."

  • My latest comic is getting hammered by low rating votes, coming in at 34 out of 67 comics. I guess I'd better put on my comedy hat and come up with something better.
Speaking of voting, you can know vote or rate each of my daily columns. Pop over the blog and vote until your clicky finger hurts.
Coming into the final stretch of 2006 there should be lots to write about in the MMOG industry, except of course, there isn't anything incredibly exciting going on. There are no super-hyped games coming out unless you count the World of Warcraft expansion. It is going to be a quiet holiday season for MMOG players and I have to wonder if some developers would just rather not go up against World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade on the shelves, assuming it makes it out before Christmas.
Sony was smart, pushing the expansions for both EverQuest and EverQuest 2, but on the marketing front at least, they are usually the best of the best. Even with their marketing muscle and savvy how many of you can name both of those expansions?
There are some tremendous non-MMOG games due out this fall, but we don't talk about those types of things here. Heretics be gone!
Talking Vanguard Devs, 9Dragons, driving dogs, bounty hunting dogs and more are but a click away.

  • Interview With Community Member Bongotezz

Comics make us laugh, cry, and want to buy cell phones. Well, the first is true when it comes to work done by BSComic's very own Bongotezz. I managed to sneak in some questions, between his busy comic creation schedule and his EQ2 playing. This artist had quite some interesting answers.

RadarX: Oh! We like Rangers here at Ten Ton Hammer, although I wish they'd use the indoor plumbing. Do you think the Ranger class is balanced?

Bongotezz: I mainly solo or small group with my ranger so I think that at least in those two aspects the class is balanced. There seems to be some loss of effectiveness at high levels while raiding. I can't really say why there seems to be a difference between solo and group play vs. high end raiding because I haven't done any high level raiding at all.

  • Cleric Class Guide Update

Life in DDO is dangerous, so it's always best to travel with a good cleric. Finding a reliable cleric can be a chore, so why don't you make one of your own. To help you, we've updated our cleric guide, which contains all things cleric.

"Many massively-multiplayer online games (MMOGs) make the cleric the general healer who stands at the back of a group and keeps the tanks alive. While clerics in DDO are still the primary healing class, they offer much more versatility to a group. They are capable of buffing the entire party’s combat skills or other important Ability scores, crowd control, and even some powerful offensive spell casting."

  • Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting! A Q&A Session with CEO Howard Marks on 9Dragons - Acclaim's MMORPG Kung Fu Debut

What gamer doesn't love a quality kung fu movie on late-night cable? In our first interview with Acclaim Games, CEO Howard Marks tells us how 9Dragons, a martial arts MMORPG set in Ming Dynasty China, will bring that singular kung fu experience from a Korean concept into the hearts and focused minds of young grasshoppas in North America and Europe.

"While 9Dragons did originate in Asia, Acclaim has made substantive efforts to ensure that the game translates well to the Western market. Or, rather, doesn't 'translate' at all. 'What we did right was to rewrite the game's story and dialog rather than opt for a loose or literal translation. This takes a lot more time and money but the quality speaks for itself,' Marks stated. One of Marks's first publicized moves was to hire Steven Eliot-Altman, a Cantonese-speaking American author, to help rewrite the 9Dragons lore."

  • The Races of Thestra (with new screenshots!)

Sony Online Entertainment and Sigil Games Online have released new screenshots and information featuring the inhabitants of Thestra. Known for bustling marketplaces and complex political intrigue, Thestra is home to a variety of races, including the ever-tenacious humans, tribal varanjars, aristocratic high elves, agrarian halfings, wolf-like vulmanes, stoic lesser giants, and resilient dwarves.

"As the dominant race on Thestra, the influence of the humans is felt on all corners of the continent. They lack the size of the lesser giants, the life span of the elves or the sturdy resilience of the dwarves but they make up for it with an overwhelming desire to succeed, a bold tenacity and perhaps most importantly, the ability to adapt."

  • Get To Know Ian Conway a.k.a. GM Aughos

Vanguard Spheres has posted another in their series of GM Interviews. This time we get to look into the world of GM Aughos. we sit with Ian Conway, (otherwise known as GM Aughos). He proudly proclaims himself the "the only GM who doesn’t have an Elf," so let's see what kind of responses we get. This could be very interesting, don't you think?

Q: You and Verityn are two of the newer GMs. Are you adjusting to Sigil's way of life well?

So far, the transition has been painless. The staff here is extremely dedicated to the project and their fellow GMs. I was welcomed in and made part of the team by everyone and I have felt at home since day 1. In a nutshell, I have no complaints. Everyday though I have to remind myself that this isn’t a dream, I have wanted to be a part of Sigil for quite sometime now and being here is as good as I had hope it would be.

  • What players will see after they leave the starting city and begin to explore Spellborn International's gameworld

RPG Vault has posted their second look at The Chronicles of Spellborn. This look gives us a glimpse of what lies beyond the starting city.

With the current target being to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, closed beta testing has been under way for some months, during which the team has been working to raise the title's visibility. As a result, we've learned a fair bit about it during this period. For instance, we can readily discern from the available visuals that the art direction is imaginative and stylish, and we also know the graphics will be delivered to our screens by the Unreal technology. In addition, we have learned some intriguing things about the design philosophy, one being the unconventional notion that a player's strength in battle is determined by the skill with which a given weapon is used, not its inherent numerical characteristics. Of course, we're eager to know more about these and other key elements of this intriguing endeavor.

Get clicking to read more. When you're done, head over to the forums here at Ten Ton Hammer and share your thoughts on this and all your favorite MMOs.
