  • Gold farming and reselling companies are snubbing their noses at game developers while the websites they own (Thottbot, Allakhazam, OGaming, etc.) make money from the players who visit them. Some players are even paying the gold farming companies a monthly fee to use the websites. Is there humour in a topic that evokes as much emotion as gold farming in massively multiplayer online games? I believe that there is, and ironically it was a Chinese (blamed rightly or wrongly for much of the gold farming) website that pointed it out to me.

  • Beta Journal #1: Bandits on Lomshir Plain

Are we breaking the NDA? Noooo! This is sanctioned. Brad McQuaid, Executive Producer of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, asked his beta testers if they'd like to write up some of their beta experiences to share with Vanguard fans. Shayalyn jumped at the chance. So we've got a journal for you, live from Vanguard's Beta 3! How did Shayalyn and her group defeat a bunch of bandits on Lomshir Plain, including their boss? Very carefully, as it turns out. You'll have to read the journal to learn more.

"I’d tried pulling these raiders myself before finding a group. As a Psionicist, I’m very capable of crowd control. But I hadn’t been prepared to see four of them rushing me. At the time, I turned tail and sprinted off to safety. Now, heading back toward the camp, I was glad that I was in good company. This time I had a Rogue, a Warrior, and a Blood Mage at my side. I felt sure we’d be able to handle this particular adventure."

  • Find Out What The Devs Think of AGC

MMORPG.com has posted a dev diary written by the producer of Priates of the Burning Sea, John Tynes.

The AGC is very different from E3 -- or at least, from the E3 That Was. It really is a conference, meaning it's nothing but panels, roundtables, and lectures. There is a small exhibit hall but it's full of companies selling middleware and services to developers and studios. No one is in the exhibit hall showing off games in any real way. In fact, the only booth I saw where you could pick up a joystick and play was the Microsoft Casual Games booth, so if you want to fly to Austin to play Geometry Wars, go for it!

Keep reading to see what else John Tynes has to say and don't forget to stop by the forums at Ten Ton Hammer and let us know your thoughts on this game and all your favorite MMOs!

  • CVG joins Blizzard's senior VP Frank Pearce for an in-depth look at the new races and issues from the outstanding expansion!

CVG has posted this preview of World of Warcrafts's upcoming expansion, The Burning Crusade. Find out what they learned while Frank Pearce gives them a test run of the game.

Aesthetically, whatkind of World Of Warcraft character do you go for? Do you like the big, no-nonsense, tough-guy orcs and taurens - the kind that could splinter bones with their little fingers and don't get invited to dinner parties? Maybe you don't like straying too far from the norm and prefer humans. Sensible, dependable, no unnecessary horns, lovely little bit of Chaucerian countryside and scones for tea. Perhaps you prefer something a bit nicer to look at, a lithe female night-elf with a chain-mail bikini and a generous nature when it comes to giving out lap-dances?

Get clicking to read more. What are you looking forward to most with this expansion? Let us know at WoW Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Class Guide Redesigned

DDO fighters wade through swarms of monsters, hacking and chopping until they are covered with muck and gore. To show our love, we've done a little cleaning for our fighters and redesigned our fighter class guide. You'll now be able to read about what makes the fighter such a terrific class and find all of our great fighter guides in one handy location!

"Fighters are a staple in each of the playable races. Drow fighters are cunning and quick. Dwarf fighters take hits well but are less charismatic than most others. Elf fighters make terrific archers because of their dexterous nature and lower constitution. A halfing fighter is weaker than most but benefits from extra dexterity. Humans become well-rounded fighters and get an extra feat at Level 1. Warforged fighters are hearty killing machines with warforged natural armor feats, but have reduced wisdom and charisma."

Keep reading to learn more about the fighter. Have you visited our DDO Ten Ton Hammer Community site yet? What are you waiting for? Check it out today!
