  • Orcs and Dwarves..Oh My!

Today sees an update to our newly opened Warhammer Online Community site. This update bengs us class overviews as well as corresponding images. The first to be added is the Black Orc...

The Black Orc’s fighting style might best be described as brawling. He attacks with all the tools available – fists, feet, elbows, shoulders, and assorted other spiky bits, notably including weapons. His various attacks are designed to jar, disorient, or otherwise disable his enemy, and each of these conditions makes the enemy vulnerable to yet more punishment, in the form of other attacks which deliver additional effects based on the target’s condition.

Next we are treated to a glimpse of the Dwarf Ironbreaker...

The Ironbreaker is the quintessential dwarf – gruff, quarrelsome and taciturn. He is also your best friend on the field of battle, as any blow struck against his allies is a Grudge that is guaranteed to be repaid in kind. Equipped with his famed gromril armor, and practicing his elite weapon craft, he is a steadfast defender, proof against even the most powerful attacks, standing by his allies and ensuring their safety amidst the swirling chaos of battle. It is said that there are few warriors in the world who can boast they are as tough as an Ironbreaker, and none that can prove it.

So what are you still doing here? Head over to Warhammer Ten Ton Hammer and check these two overviews out! New to the site? Register and share your thoughts with us in the forums...we promise not to bite, really.

  • Kiara Talks Money...

The economy is a tricky business and there is no better expert that Tony Robbins..err Kiara. Unleash the power within as you read her discourse on tradeskills and the economy.

Game economy? Who in the blazes came up with that crap top... oh. Right. That was me. * coughs *

I'm sure I had a reason for throwing that particular topic out during the weekly third degree. See, once a week, the dwarf sits you down in a chair and has a giant ogre breathe in your face while he asks you what you want to write for the coming week. I say whatever pops into my head at the time so I can get out from under the torture. And this is what happens. * sigh *

See what this topic brings out for Kiara and then share your thoughts with us in the forums on EQ2 Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Ever Wanted to Be A Guide? Now's Your Chance...

Posted on the official site for EQ2 is a news item looking for those brave few who wish to become a Guide. If you like helping your fellow players then you will want to check this out...

The last thing you remember was reaching out for Zuzzil the Enchanter's Wand, then darkness... You begin to awaken and feel somehow different. You look down to find...

...everything is normal. Wait, no...something is not right. My hands! I cannot move my hands! Nor my feet! Nothing! I cannot move anything! What is going on here? My eyes feel as if they are glass, yet I can still see. My lungs still function and my brain is still lucid. What has happened to me? Hmm...perhaps I am still dreaming. No, that cannot be since I feel the cool breeze of wind across my face and arms. "Hahaha! Another sorry adventurer to add to my collection! You'll make a fine addition to my garden, yes, a fine addition. Such an elegant pose and unique features. If I dare say so, you are my finest piece of art!" A piece of art? What does this mad man mean? Can it be true, am I nothing but a piece of art? My feet and legs do look different, almost grey and lifeless. I can barely strain to see my torso, yet from the corner of my eyes it also appears grey, almost...stone like. Oh gods, am I what I think I am? "Such a fine statue. I could not have commissioned a more perfect sculpture!"

Ever wonder what happens next? Do you want to find out? If so the Guide Program is looking for more adventurers.

  • Orcs and Huge Weapons

RPG Vault has four new screenshots of ArchLord on their site. The screenshots in this bunch feature Orcs, and a really really big sword!

The product of Korean developer and publisher NHN Games, ArchLord takes place in Chantra, a fantasy-themed world inspired by the five ancient elements, fire, spirit, earth, water and air. The playable races are Humans, Orcs and Moon Elfs, with a total of eight classes. Slated to launch in the West later this year through regional publisher Codemasters, it will also feature play that varies from solo exploration to large-scale battles, and in an evolving narrative involving lost relics that can bestow great power. And if you can gain enough supporters, you might even attain supremacy and seize the titular rank.

What are you waiting for? Head over and check them out! Don't forget to stop by the forum here at Ten Ton Hammer and share your thoughts with us on this and all your favorite MMOs.

  • Avatar Combat Revealed

FiringSquad recently had a chance to talk with John Tynes from Flying Lab Software about the upcoming Pirates of the Burning Sea.

FiringSquad: Let's talk about the new avatar combat. Why did the team want to allow players to actually fight man to man in addition to the ship-to-ship battles?

Russell Williams: We’ve always envisioned Pirates of the Burning Sea as a game that combines sea-battles and swashbuckling combat; it’s just been a matter of timing. For most of our development, we’d decided to focus our efforts on getting the ship combat side of things up and running first, before trying to tackle a whole new side of the game. We’ve been telling our fans all this time “avatar combat is coming, but it will be after we launch.” So it’s been in the plan the whole time, we’ve just moved up the timetable.

Why include swashbuckling combat at all? Well, because it’s a core part of the pirate genre! I don’t think we’ve ever met someone who didn’t ask if they could jump onto an enemy ship to duel the opposing captain. Who are we to refuse?

Get your blades sharpened and check out the rest of this interview. How are you passing the time until you can achieve all your piratey dreams in Pirates of the Burning Seas? Let us know in the forums right here at Ten Ton Hammer.
