  • A Peek At ArchLord

There is a new MMORPG coming out called ArchLord and Ten Ton Hammer has the information you need before the game is released! We've played the ArchLord beta and have compiled tons of information plus our impression of the game. If you ever wanted to have the ultimate power in a game to do whatever you wanted to then ArchLord might just be the game for you.

"ArchLord is your standard Asian fantasy MMORPG that throws in a few new and exciting concepts to mix things up. You've got your standard Warrior, Mage, and Archer arch-types (Shamans, Elementalists, and Berserkers are also available for play). They each have a unique role that allows them to utilize their preferred weapon to slash, pierce, or toast their enemies. You've got some pretty generic races too which are the Humans, Orcs, and Moon Elves. You have a giant sprawling world filled with all kinds of fantasy themed cities (that are very well done) and tons of mean monsters that are hording tons of wonderful loot."

Get clicking to see if Xerin gives ArchLord the thumbs up or down! Let us know what you think of ArchLord in the forums right here at Ten Ton Hammer!

  • I have two HUGE announcements today.

First, we have four exclusive StarGate Worlds pictures compliments of the fantastic folks at Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment. The little fellow to the left could very well be Thor. We have not yet been able to find out if this is the first shot of SGW shown to the public that was built with the Unreal 3 tools.
Jaffa and Asgard shots are yours for the viewing in our exclusive look at StarGate Worlds. While you are at it, check out the archive of StarGate Worlds news.
We are also rolling out the beta for the first Non-Gold Farmer World of Warcraft Census. You wanted to know when servers were released. You wanted to know how many of each race and class were on each server. You wanted to know the timezones of the servers AND you wanted to know without visiting a site infested with gold selling ads. Welcome to the beta of our World of Warcraft Census. If you would like to contribute to the census it's as easy as pie. Mmmm pie. Just head over to our UI Repository and grab the Add-on. It will collect the census information, quest information and more. When you are done playing just fire up the add-on and it will send the information to our census and quest database. As Smokey the Bear used to say, "Only you can fight Gold Farmers!"
StarGate Worlds screenshots, Archlord, Genus Homo, five exclusive MMOG articles and more are but a click away. Loading... September 12, 2006 [Jaffa Edition]

  • Where Were You...

Every American of our generation can answer the question, "Where were you on September 11, 2001?" Like many others, I was glued to my TV, watching the events unfold in horror. But when I'd had all I could absorb of the awful news, I did a peculiar thing--I logged into EverQuest; not to play the game, but to reach out to other people. And what I found there was a global community sharing its grief and support.

I would’ve thought that the game world might be empty. People around the globe were certainly glued to their TV sets, just like I’d been earlier. But I wasn’t alone in Norrath; not by a long shot. Could it be these people had not heard of the terrible events taking place? As if in answer to my question, I saw text pop up on the /OOC channel:

/OOC “I live in Australia. Just want to offer support and comfort to our American brothers and sisters right now.”

  • Fansite Gets Development Update was given an exclusive development update! Keep reading to learn where things stand withthis upcoming game.

It’s been a long time (too long) since I’ve given the community an update on how things are going for the Star Trek Online team and with today marking Trek’s 40th (happy birthday Trek!), I thought it would be a great time to do some catching up. I’d like to start off by giving everyone a sense of what to expect going forward. Star Trek Online was announced about a year before development began in earnest. And as a result, we had some catching up to do in order to reassure the fans that we were treating the license with respect and demonstrate our commitment to developing a high quality game. We’ve also really enjoyed the opportunity to share some of our design ideas with the community and get feedback. As you might imagine, our first year of development involved a lot of brainstorming on paper while the foundation for our new client engine and toolset was being built. It was a perfect time for us to bounce ideas out to the community. And the feedback we received had a very valuable effect on our decisions and thought process.

Get clicking to learn more! Are you planning to play Star Trek Online? Are things developing in the way you hope? Let us know in the forums right here at Ten Ton Hammer!
