Ten Ton Hammer

  • Warhammer, a game of plastic and metal miniature models and now a MMOG in development lit up the network like a holiday fireworks show over the weekend. We have about three million screenshots, concept art pieces, nudie pics and other eye-candy type goodies up for your perusal. This is all well and good, but if you were to cover yourself in stink repellent spray and walk into a Games Workshop store you would find that most of the denizens purchasing product therein were not partaking in Warhammer: Fantasy Battles, but were playing Warhammer: 40K.
Warhammer media, 11 exlusive MMOG articles, married gamers, day-old sperm and more is but a click away. Loading... August 28, 2006 [Sci-Fi Edition]

  • WoW Coming to a Console Near You?

Eurogamer.net has posted an interview with Blizard's COO Paul Sams. In this interview he discusses the console issue and much much more! Keep reading...

It's odd to learn that Blizzard Entertainment might be wary of taking on a new challenge. After all, the decision to create a Warcraft MMORPG, despite the huge amounts of time, money and risk involved, worked out rather well.

So well, in fact, that the game is now played by more than 6 million players worldwide - and counting. What's more, they're all forking out at least $12.99 a month for the privilege, which means Blizzard probably isn't having too much trouble paying the bills. Namely the bills for their champagne fountains, personal helicopters and office chairs made out of melted-down fabergé eggs. Possibly.

But as all good businesses know, you can never have too much money. So, what with the next-gen battle truly kicking off at the end of this year, it seems logical that Blizzard might turn its attention to consoles next. Surely there's a huge section of the gaming audience crying out for a console version of World of Warcraft - and since they'll be willing to pay for the privilege, surely Blizzard will oblige?

Find out the answer and then head over to WoW Ten Ton Hammer and tell us what you think!

  • Interview and a Screenshot!

MMORPG.comcontinues their series of Q&A's with the fine folks at EQ2. This time Akil Hooper, the Design Supervisor for EverQuest II: Echoes of Faydwer answers a couple questions...

MMORPG.com: What’s your favorite low level dungeon in the Echoes of Faydwer? What makes it special?

Akil Hooper: I’d have to say Crushbone Keep is personal favorite low level dungeon in Echoes of Faydwer. The zone has a great layout, and can support quite a few groups. The zone looks great and is well laid out, with obvious targets for your group, and lots of nice places to get good gear for a lower level player. Crushbone was also one of the zones I had the fondest memories of from my EQ 1 days, and its great to see the zone revitalized with EQ II’s flair.

Get clicking to read the rest of this interview and see the new screenshot! When you're done head over to EQ2 Ten Ton Hammer and tell us your thoughts.

  • PC Games Travels to Australia

PC Games recently made the trek down under to talk with the folks at Auran. Lead Designer Adam Carpenter took some time to answer questions about Fury.

Is Fury really much different from all the other MMOs out there? What aspects of the game will make long-time RPG fans want to shell out their hard-earned cash?

I’d really have to say that the question is not “Is Fury much different…”, it’s “Does Fury have any similarities…”.

Fury is fundamentally a PVP game, but ours is not like PVP in other MMOs where ganking and unfair tactics run rampant. Fury is more like a sports game where competition between players is not only expected but desired. War Zone battles pit two equally skilled teams against each other in a competition to prove who the better team is. Like sports, there are no extreme penalties for losing and whether you win or lose, you advance and can do better in the next fight.

Read the rest of this answer and more! Do you plan to give Fury a try? Tell us your thoughts in the forums here at Ten Ton Hammer!

  • What Lurks In The Caves

In a really dark um, cave, lives a bunch of gnolls, snakes, and rock monster who spend their days happily co-exsisting until adventurers like you show up. Then they band together to try and beat you into a fine paste. RadarX highlights this starter zone and quests you might want to check out.

Not much is know about The Caves. Lore wise, it's difficult to even ascertain where they are since you can only get their by boat. Now that I think about it, you don't see any way in or out. Maybe you go by submarine. Yes, that's it. A magical submarine takes you to the lightless cave where you'll find all types of gnolls and spiders and other stuff to beat on.

The caves has a variety of quests and creatures which will provide content for at least a level or two, not to mention a decent amount of collection quests if you can beat other people to the shiny.

Keep reading to learn more about The Caves. Have you played in this zone? Tried the tips in our guides? Share your adventures in the forums at EQ2 Ten Ton Hammer.
