  • Exploring Middle-earth: Bag End

In the continuing series Expolring Middle-earth on the Lord of the Rings Online official site, we get a look at Bag End today.

Above the lane known as Bagshot Row in Hobbiton, adventurers will find the former dwelling of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, known as Bag End. An unassuming Hobbit hole, if slightly better appointed than most, Bag End is a series of rooms and corridors build into Hobbiton Hill and entered through a simple, circular wooden door. However, it is not so much the dwelling itself that is of such great interest, but the tales of its inhabitants and what occurred within that are the makings of many a Hobbit legend.

Learn more about Bag End and then stop by LOTRO Ten Ton Hammer and share your thoughts with us.

  • The sacred Flower Clan

MMORPG.com has the fourth in the series of six clan features up today. Not only do we get a sneak peek at the Clan, we get new screenshots as well.

This is the fourth instalment of a six article series exploring the background lore of the clans in the exciting new MMO martial arts game 9Dragons. Today we’ll explore another one of the black clans - Sacred Flower.

Just as Shaolin clan’s thousand year tradition marks them exclusive to men, the Sacred Flower Clan is exclusive to women, the Yin to Shaolin’s Yang, as all life in The Land strives toward Yin-Yang harmony. The ideals of Shaolin are quite noble, as one might expect, so the ideals of Sacred Flower, viewed from a Ming Dynasty male perspective, are anything but…

  • Bill Fisher Talks with Online Welten

Online Welten had a chance to talk with Bill Fisher, Senior Game Designer of Vanguard, about dungeons and what we can expect from them when the game launches.

    1. How do dungeons integrate into the seamless world?

Dungeons simply exist within the world. Walk over a hill and you might find a human castle taken over by orcs, delve into a chasm and you might find the cavernous entrance to a mini dungeon or play area. There is no loading – you simply enter and leave. Of course, many monsters have “leashes” which stop them from being “trained” too far from their dungeon of origin.

Keep reading to learn more. When you're done reading this interview head over to Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer and share your thoughts with us.

  • Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40) Secrets Revealed

We present an exciting new guide that walks you through The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40). We explain how to slay every boss in this bug infested zone. Ranging in difficulty from Molten Core style bosses all the way to Naxxramas, AQ40 presents an interesting challenge for any guild out there. Many of the encounters require coordination and teamwork to overcome the challenges AQ40 presents. Our guide assists in providing a wealth of information and tactics on every encounter within this fierce instance.

"When the charge is called your main tank needs to lead into battle and grab Skeram's attention first. While your tank group is working on controlling Skeram have your ranged DPS and healers get up on the stair rails (be sure they are split up evenly although the range from one stair rail to the other is good). With your non-melee people up on the stair rail you will avoid the Arcane Explosion which should be contained on the three lower platforms. Your two off-tanks should each take a position on the two platforms for when he teleports. They need to be alert and ready to take control of Skeram if he appears before them."

Hurry over and read the rest of this guide! Before you head off to play be sure to stop by the forums at WoW Ten Ton Hammer and let us know your experiences with Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40)!

  • Weekly Poll

It's said that if ya can't run with the big dogs, you should stay on the porch. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is one of the big dogs among upcoming MMOs. Is your PC up to the challenge? Although Vanguard's minimum specs won't likely be released for months, Medeor, using his credit card as a tool, is tuning up his gaming rig. Will you be doing some advanced tweaking in anticipation of Vanguard? We want to know! Vote in our weekly poll.

"Heck, since I started playing MMOs well over a year ago, I stopped buying console games and other single-player games, so I can afford to put some money into my rig. It's like my monthly debate about my coffee habit: “If I stopped drinking Starbuck's, I'd have $xxx more money a month to buy spinners for my Escalade.” I'm not saying that you should stop drinking Starbuck’s; I am saying that you should always keep your ride up to date. If that means the kids don't all eat on the same day, that's fine--we all have to sacrifice."

Let your voice be heard. Head over and vote! While you're there stop by and share your thoughts in the forums at Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Get Ready For Coyote To Scare You...

There are snakes on the Plane of Fear! Samuel L. Jackson said it, so stop questioning it because he's been known to slap people. Coyote brings us a terrifying tale of men wanting to destroy Qeynos.

"The sound of a gavel hitting well worn wood exploded through the murky chamber like an unexpected crack of thunder. Through out the converted church the noise echoed, rumbling its end. Once a place of worship and praise - now a bastardized version of its once former glory, the chapel served a new purpose; A meeting place of evil.

Ransacked equally by time and vandals, the meeting place held little remembrance of its previous life. What few religious symbols that remained had been desecrated, and its pristine white walls now lay in decay as harsh black scratchings of vulgar runes to deities better left unmentioned marred their surfaces like festering wounds. The altar itself remained, now used as a macabre podium that served only to preach the vile words of evil. Its audience sat silently in a number of hastily up righted pews, their visages hidden by the hoods of the heavy dark robes that they all wore. Their heads and hidden eyes focused on their leader, an imposing figure in robes as black as night as he stood behind the alter, a pale hand playing idly over one of many well polished skulls that graces the surface before him. Upon his hooded head a crown of wicked horns had been placed, their tips gleaming crimson, sinisterly hinting at both the blood and pain of any that would dare break the silence."

More is just a click away. Let Coyote know how terrifying this tale was in the forums at EQ2 Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Build Week Wraps Up

Darkgolem brings DDO Build Week at Ten Ton Hammer to a close with a lethal build combining the precise damage of a rogue with the trained hunting skills of a ranger.

"The Master of Blades (MoB) should move to opponents stealthily using Sneak (if possible). Then when combat begins, the MoB does a full attack (makes sure to turn off sneak), getting several attacks + the bonus attacks from Improved Two Weapon Fighting. The MoB then immediately uses Cleave and Great Cleave before Tumbling away (bringing the very angry foe following)."

Whew! What a week! Check out this final build and then stop by the forums at DDO Ten Ton Hammer and share your thoughts. What was your favorite build from this week?

  • Paladins: A Love Hate Relationship

When WoW was first released, my first character was a Paladin. Since then it has been a love / hate relationship. There are definitely some good things about a pally, and some things I would like to see changed. Then again most classes feel that way. Since the beginning days of WoW and running WC I have progressed all the way through to exploring the Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Ahn'Qiraj.

This guide goes through everything you need to know about being a Paladin in the World of Warcraft based on what I have learned playing the class.

Hope you enjoy, and as always, if you have your own comments or suggestions I would love to add them to the guide. Send them to [email protected].

Do you play a Paladin? Head over and
