A long time ago, in this very column I wrote about an attention whore named Sara Andrews [February 7, 2006 Loading...]. Sara was upset that Blizzard would not let her publicly recruit for her GLBT guild in the General Chat Channel of World of Warcraft. I have nothing against those of the homosexual persuasion, but broadcating sexual orientation in the chat channel of a game, especially World of Warcraft is guaranteed to incite a riot among the homophobe and I.Q. challenged swarm of humanity present.

With that in mind, I now create a new character on every new WoW server and rush to Goldshire where I blast out an advertisement for a hypothetical GLBT guild, "Bottoms Up" just to see the nest of hornets rise up and attempt to virtually sting me. Comedy gold folks, comedy gold.
Chat transcripts, Vin Diesel and 288 pounds of jellybeans are but a click away.

Throughout the dark places of Middle-earth, there can be found terrifying, bodiless spirits bound to the physical world. These ghostly spirits are the shades of Men of times past. • Clan Feature: The League of Beggars

In the third of six features that look at the clans in 9 Dragons, MMORPG.com presents this look at The League of Beggars. Included in this article are nine new screenshots.

This is the third instalment of a six article series exploring the background lore of the clans in the exciting new MMO martial arts game 9Dragons. Today we’ll explore another one of the white clans ? The League of Beggars.

The clan is an organization of actual beggars, sometimes referred to as “The Endless Clan,” because as a clansman once stated, “You could sit beggars one by one in line across the land and never see the end!” It is by far the easiest clan to join. All you have to do is perform a few simple tasks, beg a bit, and swear an oath. Then you may take faith in their great numbers and be numbered among the faithful!

Read more about The League of Beggars while you check out these great screenshots! Are you planning to play 9 Dragons? Let us know how you think things are shaping up in the forums right here at Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Star Wars Galaxies: Three years and counting

Warcry writer Robert "Sabrehawk" Cox brings us an interview with Grant McDaniel. Sit back and continue the look at path this game has traveled over the last three years...

Three years is a long time in the online gaming world. For some, it's longer than others.

In the case of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, an argument can be made that the summer of 2003 was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

Since that initial launch, the game has seen over 30 updates, a major upgrade to the combat system and a complete overhaul that left many players wondering if the game's developers, Sony Online Entertainment and LucasArts, had completely lost their collective mind.

Keep reading to see what Grant McDaniel has to say about Star Wars Galaxies. What do you think of this game? What have been your experiences with it over the last three years? Head to the forums here at Ten Ton Hammer and let us know!

  • How is Guild Wars Factions Shaping Up?

ActionTrip.com has taken the time to give Guild Wars: Factions a spin and let us know what they think. Check out this review and the great screenshots as well...

Given the rules of the cutthroat world of business, do you think that people at NCSoft like and respect the guys from Blizzard? Wait, let me rephrase that: I have to assume they surely do not *like* them, but do you think that feelings render into this equation at all, or is it all just politics devoid of any emotions? Guild Wars, unlike some other releases from NCSoft, doesn't follow the typical MMO model, but it still plays like a MMO game in many regards. So given the phenomenal success of WOW, and the relatively overlapping target audience of these two games, isn't it logical to assume that NCSoft management is thinking something along the lines of: "…if only we didn't have those bastards breathing down our necks every step of the way…" To be honest with you, that's exactly what I'd be thinking. But I'm a petty, petty soul.

What are you waiting for? Get clicking and find out if the folks at ActionTrip.com think that this expansion of Guild Wars is a hit or miss! I know you're dying to tell us your thoughts about this so head over to Guild Wars Ten Ton Hammer and speak up!

  • A Day In The Life...

Ever wonder what it's like to work on the upcoming Vanguard: Saga of Heroes? WarCry has an interview with Jack Turner, an artist working on the project, who sheds some light on what things are like.

Tell us one interesting thing about working at Sigil we may not have known.

When we work late at night, Dave Gilbertson, our boss, forces us to play this brutal hackey-sack variation called NightHack. How the Sigil culture managed to take a noncompetitive hippy activity and twist it into such a bloodthirsty fight for survival, I’ll never know. The details are too long to into here; suffice it to say that the main point of the game is to minimize the pain you feel during the ritual humiliation you undergo if you lose. :D

Read the full interview and then head over to the forums at Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer and let us know your thoughts.
