Ten Ton Hammer

  • Daniel "Tyren" Chin Tells All...

Byron "Messiah" Mudry and his partner in cri...erm, partner for E3, got a chance to sit down and get some indepth and wonderful information about World of Warcraft and it's upcoming expansion...

When asked about a new capital city for the Draenei, Tyren could not answer for sure. He said they most likely would, but it was not guaranteed yet as it was still very early in the development cycle and not much more than the low level starting zone was available. The playable demo would only allow us to advance to level 5.

  • The Burning Crusades a Burning Hit?

Thurston "Ratboy" Hillman submits this report on Ten Ton Hammer's adventures at the Blizzard's World of Warcraft booth at E3.

The Burning Crusade was the other hot topic that Blizzard would be going into further detail about, at this E3. How does a company add another ten levels’ worth of content and not destroy all of the work that guilds have been spending months doing, in order to get high-level gear? Blizzard was about to fess up…

Thurston "Ratboy" Hillman brings enlightenment to the followers of Mythic Entertainment's new MMO Warhammer Online. He takes us on an indepth look at this game that while still is in production, has surprised everyone with a payable demo at E3.

There was not a lot of content released before I went into the interview, and I was intent on exploring the basics of the game and let Mythic answer all my burning Warhammer Online questions. With questions as broad as “how will PvP work” to specific questions about things as specific as the artwork, I was eager to get answers to nearly everything!

  • Character Creation, Combat Machanics, and a Look at Thestra

Does she ever slow down? Karen "Shayalyn" Hertzberg took some time at the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Booth at E3. She took time to get hooked on the game, chat with Associate Developers and get us some first hand impressions.. Thanks Shay!

As you begin your journey into Vanguard’s world of Telon, you’ll first create a character, selecting from a dizzying array of playable races and classes (which we’re told are subject to change until launch). Standing outside the Sigil booth, I watched a demo of a male orc warrior going through the rigors of customization. In a matter of five minutes, the orc’s appearance drastically changed…so much so that the first version would have been completely distinguishable from the latter.

  • Kir Tries Game Out...

Shiina "Kir" Liao gives Ten Ton Hammer a first look at this little-known militaristic sci-fi MMO. Though NCSoft is not contemplating a release date at this point, we're pleased to report that the game looks fairly polished, and boasts more than a few quality innovations...

The large Tabula Rasa banner was the first thing I noticed, with its distinctive sci-fi art style and as soon as I walked up I was immediately asked whether I wanted to give out the boot camp tutorial a try, or run out for a guided tour. Feeling adventurous, I decided take the guided tour looking to jump into the action and meat of Tabula Rasa quicker. I pulled up a seat at the station, and was handed a nice heavy duty headset and instructed on how to use voice communications. It was feeling like a tour already, and so it begins.

Find out more of her impressions and what she was able to learn from the developers of Tabula Rasa at E3 here.

Johnny Depp in heavy mascara starring in a light, humorous take on the swarthy side of the age of sail – this was about all we knew of Pirates of the Caribbean upon arriving at E3. It turns out that development of the newest MMO from the folks at Disney Online / Buena Vista Entertainment is well underway (the Pirates of the Caribbean Online booth has a playable demo), and is in fact headed for a 2007 release.
