Ten Ton Hammer

  • This week's common content editorial is all about E3 and Auto
Assault. With E3 just a few days away it is good to reflect towards
the future, looking at hot topic issues the community would love to
have answered and just what NetDevil has planned up for the big
    exposition!

"E3 is the event each year for any type of video game related matter.
Everything is covered at E3 from MMORPGs all the way to console
gaming. It's not necessarily a Star Trek convention ran out of
someone's basement either. It's pretty serious business; well about as
serious as you can get for video gaming. A lot of gaming companies use
the convention to express their plans for the upcoming year. Their
hopes and dreams for their game are revealed among a giant audience
that wants to hear the latest and greatest from the various
    developers."

  • Just as Samwise dutifully trudged alongside Frodo in bearing the One Ring to Mount Doom, so will Shayalyn trudge the floor of E3 to bear the latest LOTRO news to its fans. What's coming up for LOTRO? What's the "something big" promised by the forum revamp? The journey to find out has begun.

My interview with Turbine comes later this week, but I promise to bring forth whatever news I can as soon as I have it. I expect the news from the Lord of the Rings Online camp will be big. After all, today the LOTRO forums are coming online with a new look, and with all the previous forum posts wiped. Community manager Meghan “Patience” Rodberg tells us that the forum revamp is for a good cause.

  • We'll start off Ten Ton Hammer's E3 coverage with notes from Massiah, our World of Warcraft CM

It's Sunday, it's 6am, and its zero degrees outside. I get in the car and
turn on the radio to find that Power97 (the local hard rock radio station)
is playing the Chili Peppers song "Californication". My wife an I both
laugh at the timing. As you may know, I am heading to E3 in LA today, to
    start our TenTonHammer E3 coverage.
