  • You would think that the job market for bad guys would be saturated in City of Villains.
OGaming has posted a City of Villains Interview featuring Jack Emmert.

"It’s good to be bad in City of Villains, the latest MMO masterpiece from developer Cryptic Studios and publishing partner NCSoft. After decades of begging, fans can now literally hop into the cape and tights of a twisted mutant, degenerate sorcerer or evil mastermind at will. "

  • ROSE Giving Away 1 Million Euros.
The Inquirer is reporting that ROSE will be giving away 1 Million Euros to one of their lucky European subscribers. In other tabloid headline news, monkeys in France have been giving birth to aliens with telepathic abilities. At least we have a contest that excludes North Americans. Now maybe the Euro-types can stop writing to me complaining that our contests exclude them.

" ONLINE GAMES publisher GamesRouter has announced that players on European servers of its massively multiplayer game ROSE, will be in with a chance of winning €1 million.
Beginning in January and ending in November 2006, registered European players will begin their competition for the cash prize. Along the way there will also be chances to win electronics, PCs and other, smaller cash prizes."

  • A game with a "Comedian-Clown". Where is your God now?
GameShout is reporting that the servers for Flyff, a game that appears to have been hidden well from the public eye, are now open for public beta. Any game that has a character named "Comedian-Clown" has to be worth at least a look right?

" The Flyff crew have opened their game servers for a public beta for MMORPG fans. Flyff is the first flying MMORPG game in the world; and while others will attempt to duplicate the unique game play characteristics of Flyff, no other MMORPG will fill the sky with thousands of users engaging in air based assault, land based assault and Private Island PVP. "

  • Even your second life has spyware.
Netcraft is reporting that Second Life has been knocked offline for the second time in a month by malware that is being distributed by players within the game.

    "
A gaming "virtual world" has been knocked offline for the second time in a month by malware distributed by players within the game. Second Life, an innovative online game with more than 80,000 users, took its entire system down for more than five hours Thursday after an instant messaging bot overwhelmed the game grid with a huge volume of messages. A similar incident on Oct. 23 also caused a lengthy system outage when a user program automatically generated more than 5 billion spheres inside the game. "

I was able to play a little WoW on the weekend and it is almost like playing a different game than when I play during the week. Battlegrounds were filled with female Nigh Elf characters named Lover, Sweetcheeks, Slapurarse, etc. Why not just put a sign on yourself, "I'm a male who has never kissed a girl"?

  • A contented Jedi, or your money back.
SOE, or "The Home for Troubled MMOs", just announced that the Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed expansion will be made free for longtime players who hadn't purchased the expansion. Also, a full refund will be given to players dissatisfied with the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion. And in other news, SOE devs through their hands in the air and burst into tears.

" Beginning today, as an added bonus for our veteran players who do not yet have the Jump to Lightspeed™ expansion (and thus, space content) we will be giving you this expansion at no additional charge.  This bonus content will automatically download to you upon your next log in to the game beginning today.  After all, space is more fun with other people to enjoy it with!  May the Force be with you!"
    --and--
"However, if your Star Wars Galaxies account was in good standing as of November 3, 2005, you purchased the latest expansion pack, Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi- Wan™ before November 3, 2005, and you find that these new enhancements are not to your liking, you may request a refund of the purchase price of the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion pack."

I really hope the revamp is successful, this is becoming painful to watch. New SWG announcements at the Official Site.
