  • Shocking new footage...

Not really shocking, but it is relatively new. The Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach official site boasts a new video section and several new screenshots. More pictures means less words, apparently, so this is all the description I could find:

In our continued efforts to expand our new website we added a video section today! We also added some more screenshots to our screenshot archive!

I guess you'll just have to see for yourself! The new video and screenshots section at the Dungeons and Dragons Online Official Site.

It's amazing how much more productive a person is in familiar surroundings. I've been more productive in an hour this morning than in three days away at meetings.
Off topic for MMOGs, but I picked up AoE 3 and F.E.A.R. yesterday. So far, I'm not overly impressed with AoE 3 as much as it pains me to write that. F.E.A.R. on the other hand was tough to turn off. If you are into paranormal shooters, and who isn't, then grab it.
    Thursday Vin Diesel Fact:

Vin Diesel can fly a helicopter - Rotor side down.
Now on to the real world. You can't make this stuff up.

As always, thanks for visiting TenTonHammer.com,

  • Another Lap Each From Three Regular Auto Assault Official Site Features (Thanks Maya!)

Every week, the Net Devil team posts releases neat blueprint-style deskpaper introducing one new vehicle from each of the three races.

Blueprints of the Apocalypse: Human Daedalus, Mutant Cicada MV-8, and the Biomek Activar MAV-42. More wallpaper goodness.

Another regular feature is "Recon," which is a detailed look at the lore behind a certain game location.

Recon: Human city of Upside. Also known as "Ascension," this is where the humans returned to the surface and remains a multi-purpose stronghold.

And, since it's not too late to ask for /pizza, NetDevil wants to know what you'd like to do in-game after you've driven back to a city and cleaned your 105mm howitzer for the day.

Weigh-in Wednesday Forum Poll: "What kind of non-combat gameplay would you like to see in Auto Assault?" Your opinion is wanted!

  • WoW! More Realms.
Blizzard has added more realms to the World of Warcraft universe. At this point they have so many they are just stringing random letters together to name them.

" The World of Warcraft team is excited to introduce the opening of three brand new realms! • Bill Roper takes GameSpy to the gates of Hell. Too many jokes to pick just one folks.
GameSpy has posted a Hellgate: London preview focusing on a demonstration given by Bill Roper of Flagship studios. We contacted Mr. Roper of Three's Company, but he had never heard of the game and was searching for a "gay guy". We did get this out of him:

"For the purposes of the demo, Roper controlled a Templar character. The only class in Hellgate that's been thus far revealed, Templars seem like they're going to be well suited to mixing it up with creatures up close. Throughout the demo, Roper's newly-minted female Templar (the fair sex had just gotten its version of the class modeled, incidentally) wielded a wide variety of weapons, both melee and ranged, which gave us a pretty clear idea as to how combat would work in the final game. • Nissans and tactical nukes!

New fansite Gamer's Addiction jots down their first impressions on the vehicular shoot-'em-up MMO we know as Auto Assault. If you ever wanted to be Steve McQueen in that Bullitt monumental car chase scene (with some additional devious weaponry, of course), you'll want to pick up this game next spring, basically. Yea, I agree with GA, it's a man's game, as long as you're not prone to carsickness or vertigo!

Now, MY personal favorite part of the game (aside from the death, destruction and other chaos) is the MUSIC! WOW! The sound engine in the game is PHENOMENAL! It really puts you in the drivers seat and makes you feel like you're there. And to top it off, the background music is great driving music - definitely something to destroy the world to!

Overall, in my opinion, Auto Assault has hit the world square on the nose. You get destruction, interaction, cool music, hot chicks in little clothing, and Great cars that shoot guns. What more could a guy ask for? I mean, come on! I doubt they'll start delivering beer door to door during the game.....or will they?

  • Camelot Hydro stocks gain ground.
MMOGInfo has posted a preview of Dark Age of Camelot: Darkness Rising. It's a rough read, that caused my head to A-Splode, but worth the look if you want more DAoC info. We felt compelled to contact a Speak and Spell toy, but all we could get was this:

" The shades are growing and becoming stronger in the world of Camelot, and in case it was not enough with the eternal war between the kingdoms of Albion, Hibernia and Midgard, now a new threat has arisen within each one from the kingdoms and threatens to destroying them without concerning its external conflicts. The moment has arrived for call the champions of each kingdom so that they unite their forces and avoid that the evil destroy its lives... "

  • Corelax, the return of Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
Boomtown has posted some new City of Villains screenshots featuring the Corelax baddies. They even provide a nicely written description of these evil-doers. Ashlee Simpson actually responded to our questions, but we couldn't make much out because of the lip-sync other than this:

" For millennia, a godlike being as old as the cosmos itself floated free across the universe. As the fetid swamps of the Earth's Cretaceous Period began to recede, this god Merulina crashed into the turbid waters of the expanding Atlantic. Settling into the ocean depths, the deity conjured followers, calling forth the Coralax from the incandescent coral thriving in the warm shallows. Made from coral imbued with Merulina's divine essence, the first Coralax were Shapers, high priests meant to lead the burgeoning Coralax civilization. "

  • Rome is rising, just not on schedule.
Perpetual Entertainment has announced that Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising has been delayed. The publisher has not yet been announced and is being referred to as TBA (to be announced). Our attempts to contact Romulus as he influenced both Gods and Heroes and the other Perpetual title, Star Trek Online, but his minions merely shuffled us towards Hades stating:

"As promised we are bringing you an update – albeit a tad late – regarding the state of the project and our projected dates. The development team has been very busy expanding the world and finalizing key features of the game. At the rate with which we are building the world so much is changing so fast and this has greatly limited the amount of information we have been able to give to the community.

The main questions I want to address today are the dates. Many of you have noticed the incorrect dates in our FAQ, which have admittedly come and gone in most cases. We are currently working with our publisher (TBA) on determining the appropriate timing for launching Gods and Heroes. Because these discussions are still ongoing we will not be shipping this calendar year, which allows us to make the game bigger and better. Also, over the next few months we will be making an official announcement regarding our new publisher, launching the new website, giving you new screenshots, new movies, and other exciting information on the game.

The other thing we need to update is our beta date. We are currently looking at a mid-to-late November time frame for our first external testing. This is not a traditional “beta test,” per se, but rather our first opportunity to start letting members of our community see what we have and where we’re going. The purpose of this test will be to start gathering feedback on the game’s systems and start to putting some additional load on our servers. This testing will help us prepare for when we move into the traditional beta test. Our current plan is to have registration for testing sometime this month. We will post more information about what we will require for you to be part of this test, however you can expect the major factors affecting participation will include machine speed, video card, connection to the internet, and involvement in the community. "

  • I need your help, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
IGN has posted a preview of Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan. The preview is a good read covering the new, or should it be returning villain, as well as touching on the solo versus group aspect of the expansion. Mark Hamill will talk to anyone...but us, so we'll pretend that he said this:

" If there's any game that's managed to stir up some controversy with it's various incarnations, changes, and general shinannegans, it's Star Wars Galaxies. It was easily one of the most anticipated MMOs to hit shelves and provided a unique look at the Star Wars universe that crafters and role-players seemed to like more than most interested in combat scenarios. For good or bad, much has changed in Galaxies including a new combat system and an increased focus on loot to keep people adventuring. With those ideas in mind, Sony Online and LucasArts have created a new high level expansion called Trials of Obi-Wan, where players will indeed get the chance to meet the wise one himself… well, in ghost form anyway. "
