News from the Front Video – Plateau

NCsoft has added another “News from the Front” video into Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa. Shot in classic military training film style, the video acts as an Intelligence Briefing to soldiers entering the Plateau Region. Ten Ton Hammer has acquired the film and uploaded it for everyone to see.

Dateline: Fort Defiance; the planet Foreas. At AFS High Command, General Thaddeaus T. Bailey and his deputy commanders decide when and where the army of Allied Free Sentients will strike next. Today, Valverde Plateau is that battleground.

Tabula Rasa Six Month Veteran Rewards

Time flies when you're having fun playing war. Has it really been six months already since the launch of Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa? NCsoft wants to reward the players still chugging along, killing the Bane, with a few fun additions to the game. Ten Ton Hammer has the screenshots and video to show off these great loyalty rewards.

Something that is approved for official use is the new Green Beret. While not quite as spiffy as the black version worn by the General himself, it's sure to add a snappy edge to any outfit. The beret comes with Stainguard, so that purple Bane blood will sponge right off.

Re-Enlistment Week for Tabula Rasa

NCsoft is announcing a Re-Enlistment Week for Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa starting Friday, May 2nd. Players who had previously ended their subscriptions are invited back to play the game for free! Lots of changes and additions await players who have been away for awhile. Double XP will be awarded for squad play as well. Ten Ton Hammer has included a copy of the newsletter for everyone to see.

To welcome you back into the AFS, General British has authorized Double XP to be awarded to those soldiers who play as part of squads between Wednesday, May 5, 2008 at 10am CST and Monday, May 12, 2008 at 4pm CST. All soldiers fighting in squads will earn 2x the XP normally awarded while in a group.

Breaking Patch Notes Into Bite Sized Pieces

The development team for Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa is always working to improve the game. This is evidenced in the latest patch, 1.7, to hit the Live servers today. There is a lot to read in the notes, so Ten Ton Hammer has broken down the most important things players need to know.

If you give a Bane a cookie, he’ll get pissed and call his friends. Social aggro, also known as the Bring-A-Friend mechanic is in place: Attack with caution. At the outset the mechanic was still a little buggy, with cries of players pulling 20+ mobs on themselves. In unrelated news, hospital medics have reported a sudden shortage of Trauma Kits.

What a Perfect Place for a Prison

On this barren and inhospitable planet in Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa, volcanoes and rugged terrain are the home to only a few living creatures. The only civilized form of life spurned from a former prison colony placed here long ago in an inescapable environment. What do the Bane want with this desolate planet? The AFS will eventually find out, but in the interim it's up to us to fight them at every opportunity and disrupt their activities. Ten Ton Hammer has updated this guide with a whole slew of new missions to study.

The information on the personal log was very suspicious, and you're now tasked with taking out a traitor. You need to place a beacon and terminate Lt. Phelps (who has a nasty armor regen), and his few buddies. Good luck with that! Whitaker will reward you if you are successful.

Situated in a hotspot for Bane activity, Mount Hellas is an AFS base carved into the side of a mountain. Representing the only safe defensive position in the western Torden Plains it sits as a reminder to the enemy that we haven't given up. Ten Ton Hammer has updated this guide to add even more experience producing missions!

Say it isn't so, Colonel Franks! The coffee courier didn't show up, causing a caffeine crisis for the Corps. Those pesky Bane are always trying to disrupt the AFS shipments, and even the mood-boosting drink isn't safe. You need to find that missing shipment, and get it back to the post pronto!
