The Secret World's New ARG Hints at Cataclysmic Event

Posted Mon, Dec 03, 2012 by Martuk

Patrons of The Secret World (TSW) forums have tracked down a new ARG coming for Funcom’s conspiracy-based MMOG. The new ARG page is echoed by a woman’s voice chanting in foreign tongue and contains the ominous message stating:

-Warning-
The End of Days is Coming

Mankind has been warned. On December 21st there will be a cataclysmic event that marks the end of time as we know it. It is time to prepare.

Leading up to the end of days is a unique Alternate Reality Game (ARG) set in and around The Secret World universe that will prepare you for this inevitable cosmic event. Register now to take part in the ARG - and to give yourself a fighting chance to survive!

Joel Bylos teased the next event for TSW in his November update, which I speculated would likely relate to the Mayan prophecy that seems to be the latest end of the world fad. For those of you less familiar with the latest apocalyptic theory, it is speculated to occur on December 21st, 2012, the same date listed in TSW’s ARG.

You don’t have to play TSW to participate in the ARG, but you can earn some rewards if you do that include an exclusive monk outfit, progression potions, special items with the launch of Issue #6 and an invitation to an online end of days celebration event with the dev team.

Head over and check it out.
