Hi again folks,

I just wanted to post quickly to reply to some of your concerns.

First and foremost, we will never take credit for another's work. That is not, nor ever will be our intent. We, like many of you, want a place to manage our addons and games where there is no hidden agenda, no hidden fees, and is screened by actual people to ensure you're getting the product you came to download. As someone alluded to above, the idea is to share, not to take.

It is regrettable that some have claimed they were never contacted as there has been an entire staff in place for some time dedicated solely to contacting authors to share the idea. Perhaps contact was interrupted somewhere along the lines--out of date contact info, aliased email accounts, blocked PMs, and so forth.

And while it can be easy to get swept away with the sort of mentality that vilifies a new competitor on the block we can assure you that our intent is exactly as presented here. We're not a fly-by-night operation out to steal and resell others' hard work. We're here because we love games, saw an area we felt needed improvement, and created a product to offer that improvement to the gaming community as a whole. And FREE! As it should be.

We have people on staff who have been leaders for some time in all sorts of World of Warcraft and other gaming communities. We have years of experience not only as community contributors but as gamers. Spark and World of Addons is a product of that. And it's only just started. This project will continue to grow, across all games and with features you're not likely to see anywhere else (can't wait to show you those!). We're here to stay and our commitment to providing the very best to gamers will remain true. And we want you to be a part of that from the very start.

So, putting everything aside, I urge you to take a look at the product, understand that it's about community sharing, and see what it has to offer. There are no secret agendas here and we WANT to work with and for you, to get your product out to as many people as possible. I can guarantee you in the end you'll be glad you did. And we'll work overtime to make sure you are happy to have made that decision.

We're sorry to hear that you wish to have your addons removed. We will, of course, comply with these kinds of requests.

That being said, our goal here is to empower the modding community with maximum exposure where players can access their addons easily, conveniently, and never have to pay a hidden fee or worry about accidentally downloading viruses or keyloggers masquerading as legitimate addons.

If in time you'd like to have your addons reinstated, let us know. Would love to have you back.

We're live! It will be updated on the PlayerScore front page soon, but you can check it out now at http://www.tentonhammer.com/playerscore/news/spark-welcome

Hi Bronzeleaf,

Spark will be able to update pretty much any addon you have currently installed but there will be some exceptions. If the addon isn't on our new addon website that powers Spark you won't be able to update it through the Spark client.

That being said, we're working overtime to ensure the most popular addons are available and more will be added daily. Also as the popularity of the application picks up you'll see more and more addon authors offering their addons for use with Spark.

I hear you! Being an MMO junkie I know all too well the frustrations of a release date being pushed back. The reason for the delay this week is that the addon proved to be more popular than we expected for launch so we had a bunch more addons come in that we wanted to screen for the product launch.

Once those are all in place we'll send out the release announcement. So, while it did push us back a couple of days I believe it's well worth it given the quality of addons that will be available immediately at launch.
