I wasn't alone when shortly after Aion's launch in September of 2009 I found myself getting a little bored. The game was nice looking, and had some decent mechanics but overall the solo grind through the levels left me begging for some group content. By the time I had reached a level where the first group dungeon was open to us many of my friends had quit and I found myself back at square one. Alone in an MMORPG.

As far as RPGs go, only a handful of games have had such an impact on my outlook of the genre, changing forever how I play and rate RPGs. Of that short list, even fewer others

Exploring a dungeon in Reckoning. What makes a great game? Defining that could take an entire series of articles and more words than the Internet can hold. For some it would be graphics, for others it would be story. However there is a simple answer to that question. No matter what game you prefer and for whatever reasons, the root is always the same. What makes a great game? Its visionaries and the team. When it comes to visionaries it's hard to argue that 38 Studios has anything but the cream of the crop. We've seen their team and we've seen what they've done in the past. Earlier this year I was able to join the quad of minds behind the plans at the Studio in a panel discussion. What ensued was nothing short of inspirational to any game enthusiast. Of course, when you have a team of all-stars on any panel it's hard not to get swept away. In attendance to discuss the vision behind 38 Studios was the Studio's founder, Curt Schilling, along with Todd McFarlane of Spawn and other comic book fame (as well as some major motion pictures), RA Salvatore best known for his NY Times best selling Dungeons & Dragons novels featuring the iconic Drizzt, and Ken Rolston of Morrowind and Oblivion fame.

Vindictus made its splash in the free-to-play market last year and has been picking up steam ever since. The action-combat MMO from Nexon has been designed from the ground up to appeal to Western audiences and so far, they've been successful. This year at PAX East we stopped by the Nexon booth to try our hand at the upcoming content update for Vindictus, due to launch later this month, known as Episode Six. The new content contains new quests, a new town, new enemies, PvP and a great new feature called Transformation. The level cap is also increasing from level 60 to level 70.

I admit, when APB was canceled by Realtime Worlds, I was disappointed. I wouldn't say the game was a must-play to any extent, but I did have enough fun with it that I was sorry to see it go. I did have some major gripes about it, though, as did the rest of the community. So, when GamersFirst announced that they had acquired the rights to the game and would be bringing it back with APB: Reloaded, my first instinct was one of caution. It frankly wasn't fun to step into the streets and get gunned down in seconds by players who were 50 levels higher than you. It was frustrating to chase someone down on the streets, filling them full of lead from your gun, hitting them 50 or 60 times without their health going down much, if at all; and then having them turn around and kill you with a single shot. These things were not cool, and I was praying that GamersFirst would address those issues. Well, they have. That, and more, as I saw at GDC this year.

EverQuest is celebrating its twelfth anniversary, and Ten Ton Hammer is dancing in the streets of Freeport along with the other fans of all things EverQuest. Several members of the staff have taken to playing on the progression locked servers to recapture the magic of entering the world of Norrath for the first time once again, and they began to wonder about what lies ahead for the EverQuest franchise and of the journey taken over the last 12 years. To that end, our own Benjamin J. de la Durantaye sat down with other interest players at a roundtable discussion with EverQuest’s John Smedley (President of SOE), Alan VanCouvering (Assistant Lead Designer), and Harvey Burgess (Associate Producer).

Just to keep you all up-to-date, the PlayerScore update will be available soon. There were some unexpected issues but the devs are working around the clock to get it out as soon as possible.

Yes, we're live!

You can find SPARK at http://www.worldofaddons.com/spark/download

As an update, we've posted a Director's letter which outlines the events leading up to launch and our action plan going forward to address some of these issues. You can find the letter at http://worldofaddons.com/directors-letter-aug-2012

That's the thing--that support email address goes directly to the technical crew who really don't have much to do with the issue here. We're adjusting the formmail so it goes to the proper address.

Hey again folks,

We've spent the last few days working out a resolution for your requests. Our team can assist you through the Contact Us page on World of Addons, as mentioned above (http://www.worldofaddons.com/contact).

While some may disagree with the posting of some of these addons, others have been grateful to have their work shared. As such, every request needs to be processed manually and verified for authenticity. This may cause a turnaround time of a few days but our staff is prepared to work tirelessly to assist you.

Requests for takedown will only be handled through the means above, so please be aware that requests through forums or social networks will not be processed.
