Well, for once I have to agree with Anonymous. Shut em' down boys (and girls)

you think a panda expansion will include challenging gameplay when they are further dumbing down the talent system? Wishful thinking at best. WoW has been engineered so that the least common denominator can feel like good players. It's a stellar formula that has kept their subscription numbers high and they certainly won't change that. Hard modes provide a good enough challenge for the hardcore folks and allow the masses to get their titles once it's all nerfed into the ground.

And yes, Hal has said as much about most of the systems they have deployed, they see what the usage and interest is and spend time enhancing it accordingly. I hope for the sake of MMOGs that they stick with this system and enhance the livin' bejesus out of it.

I think if you have items you need from Inscribed Sourcestones it's a pretty decent payout for a 50. I do agree that in it's current iteration it is definitely most advantageous to 45-49 players. The real power here though is the community building - you don't need to wait through long queue times to form a group due to a lack of a particular role, you don't group with faceless members of another shard. I would love for this to be the primary vehicle for leveling for a new character - it would be amazing.

I wish people would understand that WoW doesn't have 12 million North American/European subs, their numbers are grossly inflated by a Chinese player-base that pays pennies on the dollar. 7 years is a long time to lead the pack and its obvious that folks are itching for a change. Many of the former hardcore guilds I have played in are shutting their doors for SW:TOR and I know its not an anomaly.

Time will tell, but I think its a foregone conclusion that WoW won't be the top dog much longer. The ridiculous comments the fan base is making are just like the ones that we made in EQ when we saw the writing on the wall in 04/05.

The real secret here, and the thing that people can't seem to get through their heads is this; you can play more than one MMOG. Hell, you can even like Coke AND Pepsi (I just blew your mind didn't I?). They aren't like women, they don't get upset when you spend a little time inside another one.

Even though I have canceled all my WoW subs, I may still go back and play it someday - especially with all the free gametime they keep emailing me, and I will play SWTOR and Rift and EQ2 and enjoy them all.
