This would not explain the huge success of RPGs like skyrim, would it now. I tried Tera in a beta and was disapointed by the range limitations.. What's the point of being able to aim if it does not become skill based? There's no auto targeting, but it's really hard to miss anything from the "range" you are even as a "ranged" class. I think that the tera combat is too simple if anything. It all sums up to hit 3 times one for combo, dodge, hit 3, run left, hit 2 and start over... nothing really new here.
In the 5% crit your missing the hunter with wolf -> Furious Howl, hydra -> Bellowing roar or Devilsaur -> Terrifying Roar. Even if they are not long lasting buffs (1 min) the abilitys have a CD of 45 sec, making it de facto a permamnent buff (as long as the pet lives, anyway).
The Wolf being one of the most common pet choice, there's a good chance the hunter in your party does have a wolf in his stable.
Roar of courage is also an interesting buff (Spirit Beasts and Cats) : +139 to strength and Agility
