Yep! There is, it's called Vampire: The Masquerade

Wait, no no no, let's not have a vampire MMO. I could just imagine people running around talking about how they're Ventrue highborn and so elite and oh man.

4) Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time

Though I didn't personally get much out of Mr. Jordan's series of books, in fact, I didn't even bother to finish them after about, oh, book six, there are thousands of people who love this series. The backstory alone is developed well enough that it would lend itself to a fantastic MMOG

I would be on this so fast I wouldn't know what to do. I love WoT so much, but the only problem is that RJ is kind of really sick and without his lead I'm sure they'd mess it up PLUS HE NEEDS TO FINISH THE LAST BOOK ASAP. I swear if he dies before it's finished I'm going to... I'm going to... I don't know.

I wouldn't be surprised if FFX 38234 is the next hot coffee and in some way involves Second Life.

"Strangely, I can't remember a game ever having marriage "code" in it before."

DAoC had marriages, although it was more of a roleplay event then something set in stone.
