Sorry for the video problem. A hardware failure at our datacenter made it difficult to quickly address this. The hardware issue is resolved, so now we'll get the video back ASAP.

I didn't even get one of the erroneous emails. I don't think Bioware love me. :-(

So, I decided it'd be fun to fly next to the airfleet into Twilight Highlands. I quickly found out my Bronze Drake didn't eat its Wheaties or something, because the zepplins quickly outdistanced me. I was left with a fatigue bar quickly approaching dangerous levels. I flew for the shore and made it just as the damage kicked in. Whew.

But uh-oh, I didn't get credit for this part of the quest, so I can't pick up the followup.

I ended up having to hearth out to Deepholm (had been mining there), port back to Org, fly to Azshara, and ride the zepplin again. I did not have to abandon and reaccept the quest, the zepplin was waiting the for me when. Maybe I just got lucky with that part.

Morale of the story: let the Horde do the flying for you.

Personally, I'm thrilled with the WoW f2p, or unlimited trial, or whatever we want to call it. My oldest kid (nine years old) likes to create umpteen bazillion WoW characters, level 'em to around 10, then make a new one with a different hairstyle. She picks classes based on the clothes. :-)

With the new system, she can fiddle in lowbie areas to her heart's content without us having to negotiate who has the authenticator next and without me shelling out the extra cash for her to have her own account.

Even better, I can actually go run around with her in-game now and then, which was impossible when she was creating her throwaway toons on my account.

(And yeah, I know there are MMOs and other games for her age group. She plays 'em. But I play WoW so she wants to play WoW some too.)

Personally, I'm a sucker for hybrids. My favorite is my Boomkin (with PvP Resto offspec) and I'm leveling a Shaman right now (Resto, with Elemental offspec). I don't have a ton of time to play, so I feel like a hybrid gives me the most flexibility. And a little bit of insurance. I've been playing since vanilla and there have been several times that Blizzard has done something I disliked to one of my characters. Rather than shelving the toon and starting over, I'm usually able to respec into a tree that I still enjoy and keep rolling.

Case in point: my Paladin. I leveled as Protection, mostly questing with a buddy who played a Mage. He was DPS, I was both Tank and Healer, and we were virtually unkillable. We had a great time enjoying some old-world and Outland content I hadn't seen before. Paladin was a fantastic choice for that duo.

When we hit Northrend and started worrying about gear, we focused on dungeons. I picked up a Ret spec and played either DPS or Tank depending on my mood. Nice to have that flexibility, and lots of gear worked for either spec.

Then Cataclysm hit, and Ret (in my opinion) changed quite dramatically. I'm not one to go crying about the nerfbat, but just speaking for myself, I don't enjoy playing Ret as much as I used to. Just isn't my style. But hooray - he's a hybrid! So when the mood strikes me to start Tanking again, I have a perfectly viable Prot spec that I can run with. And if I feel like finally trying out Paladin healing, I always have that option available.

I'm not (yet) a raider. I've gone on a few guild raids, mostly older content for which we were way overgeared. It was a fun social activity, but certainly not bleeding edge. Maybe someday I'll get bitten by the raiding bug, and the necessary focus on one role, best-in-slot gear, etc. will dominate my game play. My offspecs may fall to the side.

Or maybe not. This is a game, after all, and my intention is to do whatever give me the most enjoyment for my fifteen bucks a month. So for now, I'll just keep fiddling with whatever spec of whichever hybrid I find most interesting at the moment, knowing that should I ever decide to commit to one at the exclusion of the others, I always can.
