On February 22nd, 2011, the creators of
EverQuest II, released the game's
seventh expansion, Destiny of Velious. In a genre that sees more flops
than wins these days, and during a time that marks a disturbing trend of major titles going free-to-play before the
dust even settles the pretty release packages, EQ2 is still going strong. Being able to claim such a feat
is more than just an accomplishment in this market, it is a full fledged badge of established
game honor that very few get to claim.
The Scars of Velious was one of the most popular expansions for the original
EverQuest so the EQ2 team had a lot to live up to when it came to delivering
these beloved zones and characters to the world of Norrath once again.
With stiff competition this gaming season and plenty of player of nostalgia to
live up to, did SOE manage to hit the mark in this veteran game? Patched,
locked, and loaded I hopped into game to see what DoV has to offer.
This whole west coast thing just kills my ability to rant and rave on Coyote's blogs.
I'd imagine that if someone was odd enough to be set off by a video game, then it could have just as easily been their Alphabit cereal that made them do it.
Fabulous blog Mrs! Much love to Coyote (for sucking it up and risking blindness to get it done) and to you (for putting up with his sorry male ass). *hugs and inappropriate groping*
Yeah, we need men because we can't tank. /eyeroll
There are a lot of girls who play to craft and heal because they can set themselves on auto-follow and still manage to keep that cam and MSN rolling while they pretend to play. Those aren't gamer girls. Those are girls who happen to game.
Clare, I'd love to hear your point of view and justification of perpetrating the average "gamer girl" as sexy kittens in lingerie. I cannot speak for all women gamers, but in my own opinion, the amount of cleavage on the site prompted me to believe that this was a site made by men, with women on it, for men. I couldn't see beyond the plastered on quasi sex appeal and cleavage to get to where the site addressed issues that would be of some importance to women who game.
Not that women who game NEED a site like that. I get along fairly well just reading up on general gaming issues and topics because I don't actually game with my tits or vagina.
For no particular reason, I just wanna tell Mrs. Coyote that I love her. You are the coolest.
