No you do not HAVE to do any dailys, you said it your self, you want to gear up faster so you do dailys,
not one single soul other than you are forcing that choice upon yourself.
Now do i understand why you want to do it? Yeah i do the same trying to keep 2 char's capped each week,
but the only pressure is from yourself to gear up faster.

you are right, if blizz would actually do something when people explicitly abuse lfr/lfd because they know there will 0 consequence, lfd/lfr might have been a good thing, as it is, it's just a mess that don't belong on any best of list :)
As for the tabard, i get both sides, why players want the easy way of tabarding through lfd, and why blizz would rather they are out in the world.
dungeon finder is the worst idea ever, should never have been put into the game.
flying mounts, while fun, removes the player from the environment, why bother putting in a lake if everyone just flies by to their quest destination.
tabard rep, should only be for alts til you have a character at revered/exalted do the quest experience the game, instead of just sitting in the ah chain queueing.

maybe the messiah havent played in awhile, but elder charms are capped at one turn in per week :)
