Granted I do not run an affiliate site or a dedicated site that covers Vanguard Saga of Heroes how ever I do offer a unique forum to the community, Reverenced Ire Vanguard Vent. When I started Vanguard Vent I had no illusion that Sigil Representatives would ever attend or participate in any capacity. I started this for other community members such as my self that wanted to get together once and a while and just chat about the game, discuss topics, express conserns etc. over voice chat rather than post slinging. To be honest the success of Vanguard Vent is directly proportional to the amount of content that is distributed to sites such as TTH, Warcry, Class Specific such as VGRangers.com etc. That information that gets distributed to these sites is the main stay of what keeps people comming into Vanguard Vent. If nothing is released then there is realy nothing to discuss. Hence less and less people show up to Vent. Most Noticably the past few weeks attendance has droped from 20+ to under 10. So why do I agree with your blog, simple your site and many other sites like it directly effect the success of Vanguard Vent. If you do not recieve news there is no new news to talk about. I will also agree that the proportion of released information should be distributed equaly to some extent to all the major game coverage sites not just a select few.
On another note. After the start of Vanguard Vent Sigil became interested in it as another means to distribute information and interact with the community. Cindy Bowens was the Sigil Rep that contacted me. We had a few telephonic conversations prior to her First Guest visit to Vanguard Vent. After her first visit we were in the process of working on future visits from other reps. Then Cindy takes a leave of abscence from Sigil. I have tried many times to get in contact with Nick "Glip" Parkinson, but to know prevail. Where I used to have an open line of communication with Sigil pertaining to Vanguard Vent that has gone away. Now I send an e-mail in and I don't even get a reply, not even a to busy or a we are no longer interested.
When Cindy first visited Vanguard Vent she publicly made the statement that her and I were working together for future visits of Sigil reps. The community latched on to that and took that as trueth. Now just about every weekend I get asked when the next Sigil Rep will be attending. Unfortunately I can not tell them any good news. As Cindy had left adn Glip has taken over the postion he has not once responded to any of my e-mail or maid an attempt on his own accord to continue any communication with me.
So with out the continuance of news being sent out to sites such as this one and the fact that Sigil has shown no interest in the continuation of participating in Vanguard Vent it is dying out.
A little off subject... thought I would share it any ways. I have become more estatic about the release of EA Mythics New Expansion for Dark Age of Camelot "Labyrinth of the Minotaur" than even paying attention to what Sigil is doing w/ Vanguard Saga of Heroes.
I have been following this game since Oct/Nov of 2003 been an active participant on OVF since 2004, nothing that Sigil is doing currently is in the least bit keeping me interested. I still keep uptodate, I still follow the development however I do not have the excitement and the ethusiasm as I once had. Which is frustrating and disheartening since I founded and manage a pre-release just for Vanguard.
Well I guess I will get off my Soap Box Now.. but before I do, Sigil you realy need to do an azimuth check.
