Parties can consist of henchmen and players, but you can't combine a full group of henchmen with another player and full group of henchmen for instance. You kick a henchman from your group to add a player.
I'm finding that Prophecy is a lot of the same thing over and over. That said, I was also informed that Nightfall might be too much for a new MMOG player, so I went with the original. I can never go back to being a newbie, though some might disagree, but I'll attempt to give it a try. ;)
