  • With yet another flight behind me I find myself jet-lagged and at a loss for good ideas for the column. I have no lack of ideas. The problem is that they are either too complex for my time-zone addled brain or too basic to pass on to connoiseurs like the readers of this column.

Fortunately for me (and in effect you) Jeff Woleslagle and Cody Bye continue to deliver incredibly entertaining interviews with industry greats and celebrities.

  • The Vanguard hub-bub continues. It's funny how nobody likes the game, but everybody is talking about it. F13.net (Because they were slower getting their domain name than the conspiracy theorists at F13.com) deliver the latest bit of rumour and speculation because, well, we're right out of facts.

The interview with an anonymous and obviously disgruntled alleged ex-employee of Sigil is a good read if you understand from the get-go that it might be completely untrue. There isn't a lot of responsibility for your actions when you are anonymous. Here are some of the juicy bits.

  • Big news today, but first...

I wasn't very clear in the column yesterday. That's a real shocker I know. Apparently I touched on a hot subject though, as I received no less than 80 e-mail telling me I was either brilliant or a good selection for a permanent dunce cap.

  • Lord of the Rings Online is the #1 selling PC game in North America and Europe. Congratulations Turbine.

Days like this make covering the MMOG industry worth all of the work. Our teams at SOE Gamer Day (California and New York) and OGDC have delivered in a big way. Top it off with a dose of Coyote and you have a fantastic way to end the week.

  • Two big-news items for to appease your MMOG appetites today.

First up, a fantastic video of Mike Goslin, President of Disney VR Studios taking you on a tour of Pirates of the Caribbean Online. I must have an inner-ninja, because I always found it difficult to see any appeal in a pirated MMOG. Unfortunately, I missed out on E3 last year due to a death in the family and didn't get to see Pirates of the Caribbean (or Pirates of the Burning Sea) up close and personal.
