Thanks Marcel,

I may be wrong, but I believe the bottom line success of any event is how many people get exposed to the industry by that event. PAX can say that it is for gamers and not the media or the publishers, but no event can live off exposure to 40,000 people, especially when those 40,000 are the hard-core players.

Without publishers knowing that the media will be there to expose their game to hundreds of thousands of potential customers the event is a flop. PAX last year generated a tiny fragment of the traffic that Leipzig created. Without the exposure it isn't worth it for the publishers to send their A-Teams to PAX and without the publishers there is no show.

I hope that PAX does well. I prefer a North American event to a European one for purely selfish travel reasons. I'm sure that it is possible to still be "for gamers" and have extensive media/publisher accessibility at the same time.

In many of the cases it is the mailout, complete with the unsub links that gets posted. They don't leave anything out. ;)

In Soviet Russia, the MMOGs play YOU!

Valentein: They why do we have to slog through 20 levels of PvE to get to the real PvP? That's what a new player will do.

Oh, and it's Rosie O'Donnell. McDonnell had a farm, or was that McDonald?

I assume you will be playing Fury? Give us your player name. Hundreds of thousands await your post.

Thanks all!

Sardu: The reintroductions are geared to the new player. They aren't a review of the game in any way, shape or form. My reviews generally explain who might like this game, who might not and why. A new player is unlikely to jump into PvP because of the built in limitations. That is why I avoided it. I enjoyed the GW PVP model when the game launched and spent far too much time partaking in it. ;)

Fury should be in my hands tomorrow. I played early builds, but I haven't seen the release build yet. It's a different game in that it doesn't really have a PvE aspect. It's a PvP game and makes no bones about it. If it can give me a reasonable facsimile of the joy I get from playing Unreal Tournament then it will be a winner.
