umm...that was a mistype, Cryshao.

In the forum for Heroes Journey last year, there was a running debate about this very thing. The devs wanted to add a tier of play for players to buy better looking armor and other items that didn't effect basic gameplay. Some players liked it, those who could afford it. Most didn't like it and expressed themselves well, pointing to the "conceived" imbalances it would create. The devs never said one way or the other whether it would be included. Consequently, they lost a lot of player interest.

Ahhh, the Real World News cracked me up. ;)

I personally think micro-transactions is a terrible idea and won't go over with the majority of players. To combine it with the option of paying a monthly fee, is even worse. I may be wrong because how many players will really think this through? To point out the pitfalls, I will need more "thinking" time.

I have very mixed emotions about the Chronicles of Spellborn. I was sent an invitation to their closed beta, with an extra email explaining how to use the entry process. I couldn't get past the first window that popped up, couldn't get to the page to fill out my information. So I contacted support. They took me to that information page, one time, where I entered the wrong name and got an error. I contacted support again, but from that point on they never responded. I wasn't able to enter beta and no one cared. It didn't make sense.
