The standings grind is EVE Online's most traditional feature. Even as a sand box MMO there is still the option to grind missions for NPCs in exchange for rewards. Speeding up that process will save you time and earn you more ISK, faster.

Missions are fun, but I prefer to run them while only half paying attention. For this, drones are my weapon of choice, and the vexor is a Gallente cruiser that is as effective as it is newbie-accessible. Fly the vexor now, thank me later.

* Fix docking games.
* Overhaul corporation/alliance tools.
* Overhaul corporate roles and grantable roles.
* Fix war-dec mechanics.
* Overhaul remote-repairing aggression mechanics.
* Allow switching characters without re-logging.

* Give assault frigates a fourth bonus (and improve them in general)

I don't mean to put words in Lander's mouth, but I suspect the balance remark was in reference to region value. As in, having every nullsec region be equally valuable would be boring because there would be little in-game incentive to invade others' space. I halfway suspect that the drone region bounties will be superior to those found in other regions, based on this remark and developer posts on the forums.
