Gear Eye for the WoW Guy is a weekly column here at Ten Ton Hammer that helps out the average WoW player. Byron “Messiah” Mudry does this each week by selecting a character either at random from PlayerScore or from player submissions. He then works his magic, providing an analysis of the character, pointing out good gear that they already have and gear upgrades that they should look for to move on to harder content. He also looks at enchants, gems, and reforging making suggestions along the way to ensure a character is tuned as well as possible.

For all you married guys out there, you can think of this like one of the Spa trips the wife takes, except it’s for your character. It also happens to be completely geeky not sexy, full of math not women, and it won’t do anything for your image other than with other WoW players. On the plus side it doesn’t induce that big credit card hit, cause it’s free! It will also really help you stand out from all the players that you run into in PUGs that don’t appear to have a clue what they are doing, even if you were one of them.

Response has been great so far for this column and while I have a few characters in the queue to be looked at, I am always looking for more! Especially those that I can make fun of (while still offering some real help), so if you have a character that you want reviewed, or know of one that badly needs help but is just too lost to even know they need it, feel free to sent me a link to their PlayerScore page. One lucky victim, I mean player, will be selected for a gear makeover in the Gear Eye for the WoW Guy column each week.

Important Request: Several different character types have been looked at so far, including a tank, a ranged physical DPS, a ranged caster DPS, and a melee DPS. As you can see I'm missing one key character type, and I am currenly giving healers a priority for the next column. Don’t worry though; I will take all characters into consideration for future issues of the column.

To submit a character for a review make sure you lookup the character's PlayerScore and send me a link to that character. Also if you want to provide any basic information on you're goals, how far advanced you want to plan for, how much time you invest in the game, or just a bit about your self, please include it all in a message to the Messiah.
