When it comes to playble races in World of Warcraft there is a little something for everyone. With two factions filled with thirteen different races to choose from, many would claim that more would just overload the system. Despite this, each and every one of us has that one race that we would love the chance to play. Whether it is the lethal Naga or the rather unintelligent Kobolds, we all dream of taking that one unplayable race out for a spin.
New playable races are not added everyday in World of Warcraft, so the likelihood of seeing your favorite race become playable is slim. However, the chance is always there and we can always dream. Below you will find five of the races we would like to see made playable. Check them out below and see if they match up with your own personal list!
The Naga are former Highborn night
elves who followed Queen Azshara and mutated into nasty human-like
sea serpents. While the Naga have been trolling the Horde and
Alliance for years, I think that there must be at least a small group
who is tired of trying to take over the surface world and failing.
Not only would playing a character who silthers rather than walks be
bad ass, the Naga are intelligent and deadly, and wicked combination
for a World of Warcraft playable race. Since the Alliance supports
the High Elves, it is likely that the Naga would become a Horde race.
The Val'kyr of a type of undead Vrykul and one of the best looking races in the game (in my humble opinion). Once these flying bringers of death were minions of the Lich King, however, after his fall this race has become “unemployed”. The Forsaken have taken advantage of this and have brought several of the Val'kyr into their ranks, making a perfect opening for this race to become a playable part of the Horde.
Murlocs are creepy-cute fish men that make their homes all across the shores and waters of Azeroth. A perpetual nuisance in the game, the Murloc has managed to garner somewhat of a cult following. From hats, to clothing, and even tattoos, players love the Murloc. While Murlocs fall a little short on the intelligence spectrum, the deep fondness players display for this race is more than enough reason to bring them into the realm of playable. Murlocs are sure to be more than fun to play with their amusing gait and interesting language. Not to mention that this race's back story remains shrouded in mystery and would be truly interesting to see revealed.
The Jinyu are fish-like humanoids that reside all over Pandaria. Considered to be a very wise race by the Pandarian, the Jinyu are the ying to the Hozen's yang. With the ability to converse with the land, the Jinyu are remniscient of the Tauren. Not to mention that they have a really cool backstory. The Jinyu are nothing more than Murlocs who were exposed to the waters of the sacred pools found in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. As mentioned above Murlocs deserve to be a playable race and the Jinyu do too, even if they would end up siding with the Alliance.
I know what you are thinking. Don't we
already have enough playable elves in game? My answer to you is
absolutely not. If you weren't aware, the High Elves are descended
from the elves lead by Queen Azshara, who basically brought the
Burning Legion to Azeroth where they wrecked all kinds of havoc.
After that most of their race was killed off and a ton of the those
who survived became the Blood Elves we see as part of the Horde.
The High Elves are all about staying true to their heritage and rebuilding their shattered people. These guys have such an interesting (and tragic) storyline that they deserve to make it as a playable race. Undoubtedly, this race would belong to the Alliance and since this race tries to suppress their magical abilities (thanks to the horrors of the past), this would be an excellent time for a new hero class to be introduced.
That wraps up our list of the top five races we wish we could play. What are some races you would like to see made playable in World of Warcraft? Share your thoughts with us by using the comment section found below!
