In southern Kalimdor lies the zone of Thousand Needles, traditionally
the territory of Tauren tribes. Thousand Needles was once a huge canyon
filled with mesas, opening in the east to the Shimmering Flats, home of
the infamous Mirage Raceway, however, since the Cataclysm Thousand
Needles has seen some major changes.

As the world withered with the coming of Deathwing the waters once kept
out by the mountains surrounding the Shimmering Flats have rushed in,
wiping out the Flats as we knew them completely and filling the rest of
Thousand Needles with water, leaving only the highest points above the
waves. To add insult to injury the Grimtotem tribe has launched a major
assault on the Tauren tribes here and the notorious
Twilight’s Hammer has also set up shop on the ridges.

The zone has also been retuned to fit the level 40-45 range and is also
now the official home of Razorfen Downs, a 5 player instance previously
located in the southern portion of the Barrens.

For those of you who have been leveling with us this far, the quest
“Enemies Abroad” picked up at Mudsprocket in
Dustwallow Marsh will be your key to finding your way to the next zone.
Simply seek out and speak with the Goblin  Dyslix Silvergrub
for a free ride into Thousand Needles where you will be aiding in the
relief effort there. If you haven’t leveled with us to this
point, a breadcrumb quest (Warchief’s Command: Thousand
Needles!) leading to Thousand Needles can be picked up at this time
from the Warchief’s Command Board. Both quests will take
players to the first quest hub in the zone; Westreach Summit.

Here players will find a grim scene, this outpost is under siege by the
Grimtotem and the Horde remaining, while still putting up a
fight,  appear to be nearly overwhelmed.

will engage you in combat and will cause
    any pets in Defensive stance
    to attack.

After you’ve given Westreach Summit a little relief from the
Grimtotem it is time to move on to more pressing matters. The quest
“Two if by Boat” will take players across the water
filled zone to the Mirage Raceway to seek out any survivors of the
devastating flood. Said survivors will be found aboard
Pozzik’s Speedbarge, a Goblin marvel if there ever was one.

players will need to swim under the waters near the Speedbarge where
they will find the outhouse hidden slightly in a crevice.

After the Speedbarge is saved from those pesky Southsea Pirates and you
have obtained your very own stylish watery transport, you find yourself
faced with a mini quest hub extravaganza. The quests “A
Little Payback” and “Where’s
Synge?” ask players to take a part in further hindering the
Southsea Pirates, “Special Delivery for
Brivelthwerp” will take players to meet Brivelthwerp an ice
cream extraordinaire, while the quest Negotiations” will take
players on an adventure in search of black gold. We will be following
the quests “A Little Payback” and
“Where’s Synge?” first:

quest “Two-Tusk Takedown” you may find yourself
struggling to find Tony. Ignore the skull on your map and instead go
south of the quest giver where you will find a cave loaded with elite
guards. Don’t panic! Use the quest item (treasure) on each of
the guards and they will despawn, leaving your path to Tony
    clear.

Now that you have sabotaged the Southsea Pirates and subsequently
killed, then helped resurrect their leader, it’s time to move
on to the next mini-quest hub in line; the Sunken Dig Site with the
quest “Special Delivery for Brivelthwerp” which you
should already have in your quest log.

now underwater cave in the Sunken Dig Site to freeze four pipes. The
pipes are rather easy to spot, however, missing the first pipe can
happen as it is located on a side wall just inside the cave entrance.

After getting your fill of nasty Silithids and even more digusting ice
cream flavors it will be time to say goodbye to Brivelthwerp and follow
the quest “Negotiations” to the final mini quest
hub,; Splithoof Heights, where you will be assisting Riznek and
Trackmaster Zherin in negotiations with the Centaur found there. style="font-style: italic;">

around. After the goods are delivered players will pick up the
breadcrumb quest “Free Freewind Post” which will
send them to the next quest hub in the zone and if you have reached
level 43 by now you will also get the quest “Tanaris is

out of the zone. Ignore that for now and instead head for Freewind Post.

You have given all the help you can to those at Freewind Post and
discovered some disturbing news along the way; the Elder Crone is
missing and while the Horde holds no love for her, it is still a cause
for concern. The quest “Trouble at Highperch” will
take players to Highperch, the ancestral home of the Wyverns to seek
out the answer to this mystery.

While no real answers can be found at Highperch you do help rescue the
Wyvern and their young from the Twilight’s Hammer until you
are finally sent on your way to the Twilight Bulwark where you will
find someone who may know where the Elder Crone might be with the quest
“On to the Bulwark”.

The Elder Crone has been found and you have released her from her

Twilight Withering to the east.

It seems Magatha has played a dirty trick and now has some very
powerful artifacts in her possession. Thankfully you have escaped with
your life and the only thing left to do is head back to Fizzle and
Pozzik’s Speedbarge with the quest “Spread the
Word” and report all that has transpired.

Despite all the unanswered questions Pozzik is grateful that the
immediate threat,; the Twilights Hammer, has been removed and rewards
you appropriately. Besides at least you get to keep your awesome speed
boat, right?

All that is left to do now is pull out that dusty quest
“Tanaris is Calling” from in your quest log and
head on over to Tanaris where you will be once again asked to lend your
services. Congratulations on another zone completed!

Located
in southern Kalimdor, Tanaris is an arid desert zone where the only
type of storm one will find is a sandstorm. Tanaris is the ancestral
home of the bronze dragon flight who are based out of the Caverns of
Time, a set of instances taking players back to different time periods
in the history of Azeroth. The Caverns of time are not the only
instance located in Tanaris. In the north lies Zul’Farrak, a
giant Sandfury Troll village.

The Cataclysm has brought some big changes to this desert zone., nNot
only has it been given a new level range, but the waters from the sea
have rushed in destroying Steamwheedle Port and unexpectedly making
Gadgetzan a port city, making the Steamwheedle Goblins (the main
inhabitants of Tanaris), especially those who had previously purchased
property here, extremely happy and wealthy.

If you have been leveling with us thus far you should have completed
the quests in Thousand Needles. If this is the case the quest
“Tanaris is Calling” should be lurking in your
quest log ready for turn in once you reach the zone. If you are just
joining us the quest “Warchief’s Command:
Tanaris!” found at the Warchief’s Command Board
should be available at this point and will also lead you on your way to
the booming Goblin city of Gadgetzan, the first quest hub in this
desert like zone.

After you have completed the quests available in Gadgetzan you will
have two breadcrumb quests leading you onward in the zone.
“Sandsorrow Watch” will lead you to Sandsorrow
Watch where you will be assisting in the recovery in a long lost
mythical sword, while “Momentum” will take players
to Lost Rigger Cove where they will continue their business dealings
with Megs Dreadshredder. Your first destination will be Sandsorrow

Zul’Farrak. Inside several more quests will be available. If
the player chooses to complete this instance or not is up to them, for
the purposes of this guide however we will be simply moving on to the

Tanaris, but eventually the quests here will run out and you will find
you have completed another 10 levels and reached the marvelous
milestone of level 50. Now it will be time to follow the quest
“Tropical Paradise Beckons”, picked up at the
Dawnrise Expedition, to the Un’Goro Crater Perhaps you will
get to finally kick back and relax there? One can dream.

The lush jungle zone of Un’Goro Crater (meaning
“God Lands” in the Qiraji language) lies in
southern Kalimdor and gives players the impression that they have
stepped back several million years in time, or into a Jurassic Park
movie. Un’Goro is almost totally isolated from the rest of
the world, wedged between and only accessible from the two desert zones
of Tanaris and Silithus.

Un’Goro is rich in plant and animal life and players
adventuring here should be wary as they move about the zone. Points of
interest in the zone include several Pylons that are rumored to be
where the titans will reappear when they make their second voyage to
Azeroth. At the very center of the zone lies a raging volcano that not
only brings destruction to the land, but is also probably the answer to
Un’Goro’s rich landscape.

Un’Goro currently houses no instances or battlegrounds of any
type. However, after the Cataclysm the Crater has been outfitted with
two new flight paths making travel here slightly less annoying.

For those level 50 players heading into the jungles of
Un’Goro and who have been leveling with us so far the quest
“Tropical Paradise Beckons” will lead you down into
the Crater to Marshal’s Stand, one of the only civilized
places in the zone. For those just joining us the breadcrumb quest
“Warchief’s Command: Un’Goro
Crater!” will also lead you to the Stand and can be picked up
at the Warcheif’s Command Board found in most major Horde
cities.

The Un’Goro Crater can be accessed from the southern most
part of Tanaris. But this time we won’t be following the
breadcrumb quests quite yet. Before we head to Marshal’s
Stand we will be making a small pit stop at the bottom of the ramp
leading into the zone. Here players will find several quest givers
having some problems with the local Raptor population.

Even with our work done at the Crater’s entrance it will
still be a little while before we reach our original destination at
Marshal’s Stand. First we must follow the quest
“Flowing to the North”. For this quest we will be
seeking out Ithis Moonwarden, a Night Elf Druid, who can possibly tell
you more about the various flora in Un’Goro.

After getting intimate with the Tar Beasts and Apes of the Crater your
time at the Mossy Pile will come to an end and it will be time to
follow the quest “ Adventures in Archaeology” which
has been rotting away in your quest log for quite some time, to the
Gorlakka Hot Springs in the western part of the Crater.

The Un’Goro Crater is by far one of the most disorganized and
disjointed zones we have quested through so far, so it will probably be
a relief to finally see the end of this zone. This time we will be
traveling to Silithus with the quest “The Dunes of
Silithus” and we can only hope that this new zone will be far
easier to navigate through.

Silithus is a huge desert zone located in southern Kalimdor. Silithus
is also one of the few zones in Azeroth that is almost totally infested
with insects. This zone can only be
reached by traveling through the
Un’Goro Crater, which has a small infestation itself. Perhaps
thanks to it’s southerly location  and lack of
civilization, Silithus has felt almost no ill effects
after the
Cataclysm.

Despite it’s enormous bug problem (or perhaps because of it)
the Cenarion Circle maintains a presence in the zone in their
stronghold at Cenarion Hold. Here they monitor the happenings in the
zone keeping a close eye on the Silithids. Several other smaller
outposts can be found in the zone, but nothing as large as Cenarion
Hold.

While Silithus has not been ravaged by the Cataclysm, a large change
has come to the zone. Ahn’Qiraj, a section of the once great
Aqiri empire, has been made into its own separate zone. Inside this new
zone can be found the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, a now 10 player
raid instance, once located in Silithus.

If you’ve been questing with us thus far and have reached at
least level 54 and completed the quests in the Un’Goro Crater
you will find the quest “The Dunes of Silithus” in
your quest log. This is the breadcrumb quest picked up from
Marshal’s Stand that will lead players to the first quest hub
in Silithus; Cenarion Hold. If you are just joining us the seek out the
nearest Warchief’s Command Board where you will be able to
pick up your very own breadcrumb quest; “Warchief’s
Command; Silithus!”.

This zone, unlike most of the others, contains only one flight path
located in Cenarion Hold near the center of the zone. Because of this
and the tendency of the many of the quests from the various quest hubs
to flow together, it is suggested that you complete the quests from all
quests hubs together as much as possible. This means follow the
breadcrumb quests as soon as you pick them up and quest, quest, quest.

The quest hubs that can be found in this zone are:

Sporting only a little over 20 quests in the entire zone Silithus may
or may not be enough for you to reach your leveling goal. However,
there is hope in the form of a breadcrumb quest picked up at Cenarian
Hold. This breadcrumb (“Call of the Warmatron”)
will surprisingly enough be taking us via portal (found in Cenarian
Hold) out of Kalimdor, into the Blasted Lands located in southern
Eastern Kingdoms.

Twisted by dark magic that brought the Dark Portal into being, the
Blasted Lands are seemingly forever tainted. The Blasted Lands were the
first sight the Horde saw as they entered Azeroth. The Dark Portal
still stands here, leading players to the world of Outland where they
can adventure in the Orcs’ homeworld.

With few inhabitants, the Blasted Lands is a barren desert like place
where only the strong survive. Only one usable main road runs through
the zone and no rivers bring relief to the landscape. Strange lightning
storms dot the sky and any who dare enter the zone find themselves
questioning why they came.

With the coming of Cataclysm the Blasted Lands has seen some major
changes including a brand new play zone on the newly
exposed eastern
coastline, and the addition of the Tained Scar, a dark foreboding
forest in the south western portion of the zone.

For those who have been leveling with us so far you will have arrived
here via portal from Cenarion Hold following the quest “Call
of
the Warmatron”. Those that have not had the pleasure of
following
along with this guide need simply visit their neartest
Warchief’s
Command Board for the appropriate breadcrumb quest.

Once you have proven yourself to the Warmatron by putting some Ogres in
their rightful place (dead) you will be charged with heading to the
Nethergarde Mines with the quest “Heartstrike”
where you
will help put a damper on the Alliance mining operation.

With a job well done at the Nethergarde mines it’s time to
report
back to Okrilla at Dreadmaul Hold with the quest “Mission
Complete”.

After you turn in your report (perhaps you should have left the part
out about hiding in a box?) Okrilla will uphold her end of your
original bargain and shares what little she knows with you. It seems a
demon hunter has passed through recently and your best bet at finding
out more information is following the quest “The Dreadmaul
Furnace” to the next quest hub with the same name. You will
just
have to fight a few Ogres to get there.

  • style="font-weight: bold;">Tips:  style="font-style: italic;">To turn in this quest you
    will need to
fight your way through Dreadmaul Furnance which is filled with Ogres.
The NPCs are located in the very back of the cave. Thankfully once you
speak with them they will ask you to complete a quest which will enable
you to use a crystal to reach them instead of making the long trek
    through the masses of Ogres.

While you have managed to ressurrect the demon hunter Loramus he brings
with him some disturbing news. You must pass along the message and
quickly! Follow the quest “Time is Short” to the
Dark
Portal.

The
Dark Portal

    Quests:  style="font-style: italic;">N/A
  • style="font-weight: bold;">Tips:  style="font-style: italic;">To complete the quest
    “Watching Our
Back” without being detected, simply stand on the cart
    directly
beside the plans to avoid being caught.

Completing the quests at the Dark Portal open up two (three if you have
reached level 58 already) breadcrumb quests: “Enhancing the
Stone” will take you back to Loramus, while “The
Sunveil
Excursion” will lead players to the next quest hub in the
zone by
the same name. Preferring to finish what we started we will be heading
back to Loramus first.

Note:
If you have reached level 58 one
extra breadcrumb quest is available called “Through the Dark
Portal” which will as the name implies lead you through the
Dark
Portal to Outlands. Whether you continue on in this zone from this
point is up to you.

With the demon Razelikh taken care of it’s time once again to
move on. But before we make our way to The Sunveil Excursion you may
have noticed that you have picked up another breadcrumb quest along the
way from a very cute little Murloc while collecting the Amulet of
Sevine. This Murloc and his people desperately need your help so follow
the quest
“Home…Gone….Naga…”
to The
Red Reaches.

The Red
Reaches

    tadpoles for the quest
“The Future of Rockpool” you will find that every
    time you
are attacked you will drop the chest with the tadpoles on top. Simply
kill the mob that is attacking you and then you can collect the chest
    and start pulling again.

With revenge taken on the Naga for the treatment of the Murlocs,
it’s finally time to move on to the Sunveil Excursion in the
southern portion of the Blasted Lands.

Sunveil
Excursion

With the evil druid slain and some peace brought back to the land it is
finally time for us to say goodbye to Azeroth, at least for now. Head
back to the Dark Portal and travel through it to your next adventure
with the quest “Through the Dark Portal”.

Congratulations!
