Nearly every MMOG that we play uses character stats in some
way to alter the effectiveness and playability of our characters.  The stats
used and what they do though are unique to each game and this is certainly true
of Aion stats.  Knowing what stats you need to focus on is easy once
you know what your stats do.  This guide will define each stat for you to
give you the basic knowledge you need to manipulate your character’s stats for
the best gameplay results.

In addition, we will give you an idea as whether or not the stat is useful
for your class.  Do keep in mind that there are soft caps and hard caps
that come into play so while you can pour all your resources into a single stat,
once you've hit the soft cap for your class and level, the return you get from
each raise in stat point is diminished and ends up reducing the effectiveness of
buffs.  Class will often want to consider focusing on 1 or 2 stats to
increase early on, then add more later on when they start reaching cap on their
stats of choice.  This will give you the biggest bang for your stat buck
and give you a clear road to follow when choosing stat gear.

Accuracy – Controls melee hit rate and critical hit chance.
Raising this skill raises the amount of damage the player can deal.  This
base skill is a good focus for any melee class, particularly those that rely on
burst damage such as the scouts or the gladiator.

Agility – This determines the ability to evade, block, or
parry enemy attacks. Raising this skill will lower the amount of damage a player
will take. Melee classes with low defense benefit most from an increase of
Agility.  Scouts who often solo will find extra survivability with a boost
in Agility.

Attack – This stat controls the amount of physical damage
that is done by skills and weapons.  Raising this skill will increase the amount
of physical damage a player will deal.  All melee classes can benefit from
extra attack and it should be a focus for melee DPS classes.

Attack (Atk) Speed – This is the speed in which a player
will auto attack with their melee weapons.  Raising this skill will cause your
auto-attack to go off more frequently. This is secondary skill that probably
shouldn't be a focus unless the player has already maxed out more important
stats. This skill would be most useful for classes that do a large amount of
slow weapon damage, such as those who carry a polearm or two-handed sword.

Block – This determines how often the player will block
attacks, completely or partially, from an enemy.  Raising this skill will lower
the amount of damage taken during battle. This skill works best for primary tank
classes.

Critical (Crit) Rate – This is the player’s chance at
landing a critical hit.  Raising this skill will increase the amount of damage
the player does during battle. All classes will benefit from a raise in this
skill.  DPS melee classes should focus on this skill to soft cap early on
to maximize damage potential.

Concentration – This stat controls how likely you are to be interrupted when casting a spell. Raising your Concentration will make you less likely for your spell to stop casting when you take damage during casting. Working on this stat is important for healers who will often be targets but still need to get those spells off.

Earth Resistance – This stat determines how resistant a
player is to earth based elemental spells.  Raising this skill reduces the
damage caused by and susceptibility to earth spell damage. Resistances are most
effective in PvP for classes who tend to be a target and have low defense.
These are particularly helpful for mages and healers.

Evasion – Controls the player’s ability to completely avoid
melee damage.  Raising this skill will increase the chance of avoiding damage
from an enemy melee strike. As a helpful skill for all melee classes, the scouts
with lower defense who solo or tanking classes may want to work on raising this
skill.

Fire Resistance – This stat determines how resistant a
player is to fire based elemental spells.  Raising this skill reduces the damage
caused by and susceptibility to fire spell damage. Resistances are most
effective in PvP for classes who tend to be a target and have low defense.
These are particularly helpful for mages and healers.

Health – This stat determines how many hit (or health)
points a player has and how quickly they recover those points.  Raising this
skill allots more HP and boosts the recovery time of a players HP. This is a
good all around skill for all classes but shouldn't be focused on until more
important stats have reached their cap.

HP (Health Points) – This is the amount of health or hit
points a player has.  Raising this stat will increase the amount of damage the
player can take before dying. Another good basic stats that works for everyone
but doesn't need a lot of attention early on.

Knowledge – This skill determines the player’s spell
accuracy and spell damage.  Raising this skill will increase the amount of
damage dealt by spells. This stat is a good focus stat for mages and priests.

Magic Accuracy – Controls how often a spell hits the
player’s target.  Raising this skill will increase the amount of spell damage
done by the caster. Another good stat for mages and priests to rely on, this
stat should be raised by those classes after they have capped their damage
stats.

Magic Boost – This skill determines how much damage a spell
will do when it land on the enemy.  Raising this skill will increase the amount
of damage dealt by each of the caster’s spells. As another damage stat for
priests and mages, it is important that DPS mages raise this skill early on to
maximize damage potential.

Magic Resistance - This stat determines how resistant a
player is to magic spells.  Raising this skill reduces the player’s damage
taken by magic and susceptibility to magic spells. This skill is helpful for
those classes who are often targets in fights and susceptible to magic damage.

MP (Mana Points) – This skill controls how much magical
power the player has available to cast spells or use skills.  Raising this skill
will increase the amount of MP a player will have at their disposal. This is not
a stat that is in particular need of attention for mages and priests, but is
something you can always add to once you've maxxed your damage skills.

Parry – This stat determines how much damage the player
will take from an attack.  Raising this skill will reduce the amount of damage a
player takes during melee combat. This stat is useful for all melee classes who
take damage, particularly those with lower defense.

Physical Defense – This stat determines the player’s
mitigation to melee and ranged physical attacks. Raising this skill will lower
the amount of damage the player takes from any physical combat. This is a good
stat to work on for tanking classes.

Power – This skill determines the amount of physical damage
the player can deal.  Raising this skill increases the amount of melee damage a
player can deal during battle.

Speed – This skill controls how quickly the player runs.
Raising this skill allows the player to move at a faster pace. This skill does
not affect combat speed, only run speed.

Water Resistance - This stat determines how resistant a
player is to water based elemental spells.  Raising this skill reduces the
damage caused by and susceptibility to water spell damage. Resistances are most
effective in PvP for classes who tend to be a target and have low defense.
These are particularly helpful for mages and healers.

Will – This stat determines the amount of mana points a
player has and how quickly mana points recover.  Raising this skill will allot
more MP to the player and will boost how quickly those points are recovered.
This is not a skill in need of attention for mages and healers but something to
keep in mind if you happen to come across a skill item with this stat.

Wind Resistance - This stat determines how resistant a
player is to wind based elemental spells.  Raising this skill reduces the damage
caused by and susceptibility to wind spell damage. Resistances are most
effective in PvP for classes who tend to be a target and have low defense.
These are particularly helpful for mages and healers.
