Sanctum of the Burning
Souls Quest Guide

The Sanctum of the Burning Souls is a 6-man dungeon nestled
far to the east in the Wild Lands of Zelata. Intended for players
ranging from level 37 to 39, there are a number of quests scattered
across Hyboria that involve this treacherous place, and here we
document them all for you. Just be sure to bring a group with you, lest
you be killed by the Drowned Ones!

"The
Woman Who Never Died"
Inside the Outflow Tunnels by reading the diary of
Princess Akivasha
In
the Outflow Tunnels beneath Old Tarantia, I found an Ancient
Sarcophagus
with an open lid. The walls of the room around it were spattered with
blood
and the floor was covered in mangled corpses. Amongst the debris, I
found a
small book, possibly a journal. It appears to be inked in blood and
bound
with human hair and the script is harsh and angular – I have never seen
its like. I should ask a scholar to translate the book for me.

In Tesso with Teltus the Alchemist

Teltus
the Alchemist has asked me to travel to the old ruins and recover
three types of plant, Gravai fungus, Kowers mushroom and Tagre lichen.
They only grow in the wet darkness of the ruins. Teltus will reward me
handsomely for their recovery.

Wild Lands of Zelata with Zelata.
After
a cryptic conversation with Zelata, I have discovered that an ancient
evil in the old ruins to the north is the reason for the problems in
the Wild Lands. If I can find a way to cleanse the ruins of the evil,
the Wild Lands will be well on the way to recovery.

Wild Lands of Zelata with Zelata.

 

 

 

Zelata has asked me to slay the restless spirits of
Acheron. Some dark power has awoken them, and their numbers will
continue to grow as time passes, unless they are stopped. I should kill
any Drowned Ones and Acheronian Shadows that I find.
I can find them in the ruins of the Sanctum of the Burning Souls, to
the north.

Maxus,
the old drunk in Tesso, has asked me to recover his ancestral sword
which was lost years ago in the old ruins near the town.

In the Sanctum with Melkar

Entering
the old ruins in the Wild Lands, I encountered an ancient spirit named
Melkar. After several cryptic references to the Mark of Acheron, he
told me that people have awoken the power of an altar in the ruins. To
stop them, I will need to cleanse the altar using the “Ritual Chalice”,
which Melkar claims is in a chamber that was lost when the city was
flooded. I should find the chalice and cleanse the altar.

"Lifting
the Curse"

 

In Wild Lands of Zelata with Zelata after amongst the
Fabio line of quests.

Zelata
has identified the statue which appeared during the vision created by
casting powder on the fire. It is the Sanctum of Burning Souls, the
twisted ruin of a city destroyed in the time of Acheron. She suggests
that the scroll belongs with the statue and that if I wish to be rid of
the scroll and its curse, I should return it to the ruins it came from.
