There was a time where I’d avoid Beta events like the plague. I didn’t want any spoilers and wanted to go into a new MMO knowing absolutely nothing. In recent years however my ‘need to know’ is insatiable and as a result, I’m often first in line to see what’s on offer. Partially to save myself some money if the game turns out to be garbage but also to establish whether or not sticking around for an expansion pack or additional content is worth it. More often than not Beta events that I’ve played have given me more than enough of an impression to warrant making a decision.
