Having been playing Heart of Thorns since launch, I’m just about ready to release my review (hopefully Monday). Until then, I wanted to ask you all what your impressions of the expansion pack have been?

At the moment I’m Mastery rank 50 and one step away from completing the Living World story. I’ve also completed all the new maps on my dragonhunter and the end boss in Dragonstand. Whilst there’s still lots for me to do, including a whole bag of achievements, I’m in a good spot going forwards.

One thing that has been playing on my mind is which profession I want to main. Druid still has lots of niggles but it’s very fun and arguably has more survivability that a Celestial Elementalist. It’s the dragonhunter that has took up most of my time and a profession I didn’t expect to love but one I’ve grown very fond of. In fact, it’s the dragonhunter that I’ve taken through most of the expansion pack.

Other than the positive surrounding all the elite specializations, the biggest thing I’ve taken away from Heart of Thorns is the fact the maps are so brilliant. Their scale, beauty and design is incredible and going back to core Tyria is such a shock to the point where I actually dislike leaving the jungle. Was that ArenaNet’s intention? I doubt it!

So how have you been finding the expansion pack? Any major positives or negatives you’d like to share? Let me know and be sure to stay tuned for my review next week.
