Victory Games devs sit down for a chat about the next installment to the Command & Conquer series and to reflect on the history of the classic RTS series. Any RTS fan has played at least one of the many Command & Conquer titles if not all, and I think most can agree that Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight was by far one of the worst. I could write a laundry list of grievances I had with that game, but I think that Lead Designer Samuel Basss statement in the latest video from the studio summarized my feelings nicely on one thing that the next game should do.
"First thing we said is that we need to kind of wash the stain of CnC4 (Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight) away, said Samuel Bass, lead designer of Command & Conquer.
The rest of the video offers some encouraging words about what the Victory devs have planned for the new free-to-play Command & Conquer title by getting back to the roots of the RTS, drawing inspiration from Command & Conquer Generals and returning to resource management and unit strategy.
