Anyone that has played Diablo II is familiar with the game’s three modes of difficulty: Normal, Nightmare and Hell. But Blizzard is looking to up the ante a bit with Diablo III and today at gamescom they revealed how they plan to challenge the skill of even the most hardcore of players.

With the previous three difficulty modes intact, Blizzard announced that they’ll also be adding in a new Inferno difficulty mode that will be accessible to players once they complete Hell difficulty in Diablo III. Players will cap out at level 60, but creatures in Inferno will be as high as 61. Inferno will pose new challenges but also offer new rewards and as a bonus, all of those sets unique to each difficulty will have their own appearance.
