Blizzard is preparing to launch the real-money auction house for Diablo III and new security requirements have been put into place for those that plan to make use of the new feature. Starting today, anyone that would like to make additions to their Battle.net account balance will need to have either an Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator tied to their account.

The change is aimed at improving security and reducing account theft prior to the launch of Diablo III’s real-money auction house, which will undoubtedly become a tempting target for a few unsavory characters given that real money is involved.
