Diablo III will finally be getting its first taste of PvP in the upcoming 1.0.7 update. This week Blizzard offered a peek behind the curtain to preview some of the content slated for release with the update that will include the new Dueling feature, the first of a very long overdue addition of PvP. Dueling will allow a group of players to speak with Nek the Brawler in New Tristram to be teleported to the Scorched Chapel, a new zone designed for PvP combat. The Scorched Chapel includes four areas for players to fight in: the church, the graveyard, the river, and the lake. Dueling is designed in a PvP free-for-all format for up to four players.

The update also previews wizard and monk class changes, new crafting recipes, monster power changes, and more. Additionally, 1.0.7 will also remove the incrementing resurrection timer for consecutive deaths, so dying lots of times won’t cause that resurrection timer to force you into a long wait.

1.0.7 is scheduled to hit PTS “very soon” according to the post. Again, I reference you to this handy guide from Turbine’s Sapience on figuring out how all these “soon” statements can be interpreted. In the meantime, head over and check out the full 1.0.7 preview for yourself for all the details.
