Blizzard enjoys being as cryptic as inhumanly possible when it comes to release dates and confirmations. Yesterday a reported Twitter post from Blizzard Community Manager Bashiok pretty much appeared to confirm that Diablo III was in the works for the console. But in a recent statement to Game Informer, Blizzard yanked the drag chute on the tweet and stated that Bashiok’s post was meant to indicate that they are “actively exploring the possibility of developing a console version of Diablo III.” Blizzard went on to say that the post was not a confirmation of a Diablo III console version. Of course, reading the full question and the response, you can see why there was some apparent confusion.

So there you have it folks. It looks like we’ll have to wait a while longer before Blizzard surprises us all with an official Diablo III console version announcement that nobody knew was coming. Be sure you act surprised. (/jesting sarcasm off)
