EA Brings New Social and Digital Service with the Launch of Origin

EA begins a new era in digital download services with the official launch of Origin.

Earlier today we reported on the early leaked story that EA would be distributing its digital download for Star Wars: The Old Republic through its new Origin platform. Today marks the official launch of EA's new social hub and digital download service. Origin allows players to purchase EA titles on a number of devices, including digital downloads for PC and mobile devices. Users can also stay in touch with in-game friends using the Origin beta desktop application. Head over to the new Origin website and check out EA's latest service for yourself.

Be sure to check back next week following EA's E3 2011 press conference for a look at some exclusive game content for Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
