Nick Konkle, lead gameplay designer of The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), narrates a new video this week that showcases the character progression system of ESO. Players familiar with past games in The Elder Scrolls series will recognize some progression elements gained through skill and attribute points. Attribute points can be used to increase a player’s hitpoint, stamina or magicka, the three basic attributes that can be increased to accommodate a given playstyle as to where skill points can be used to increase or augment certain skills in the player’s chosen skill line.

Other skill lines also become available such as becoming a werewolf or a vampire, or joining the various class guilds throughout the world, something that players may remember from past games of the series. These open up more skill options to players that are not available at the start, so exploration of the world can pay off.
