There’s a few changes on the way for Fallen Earth’s Territory Control system and QA Lead Kevin “Neverender” Herndon has posted a new blog to give fans a preview of what’s to come. The team will be applying elements from the Faction Territory Control mechanic to the rest of the game with the exception of Sector 1 to help forge the Global Territory Control system, which will allow players to engage in a faction war to claim supremacy.

We wanted to give you guys an update on one of the upcoming features we’ve been working on and give you a chance to get an early look at how it’s shaping up. We’re taking elements from the Faction Territory Control mechanic that was introduced in the new zone north of Sector 2 and applying them to the rest of the game (except for Sector 1).

The Fallen Earth Faction Territory Control system allows players to fight for control of Conflict Towns, Faction Control Points and open PvP zones to gain points towards becoming the most dominant faction in the canyon. With the changes, this will also expand to include lower levels, which will need to aid in capturing and holding certain areas in which only level-appropriate players can fight for control in. Holding contested points on a global level can help earn certain faction benefits such as increased experience gains, faster crafting and gathering speed, random AP gain and more. Of course, only one faction can be king of the hill at any given time and reap the rewards.

There will be areas in Sector 2, Sector 3, Deadfall, Terminal Woods, and Alpha County that contribute towards Global Territory Control. Only level-appropriate players will be able to take control of these points, so all players will be able to stake a claim in their Faction’s dominance as early as Sector 2.
