Destiny’s Taken King is set to go live in just under 12 hours, are you ready? It may be too late to complete things like the Moments of Triumph, but there is still some stuff you can get in order to leave more time for enjoying the Taken King content interruption free. Here are some ways we’re preparing for the big launch.

  • Cleaning up your inventory. You’ll undoubtedly be picking up a whole whack of new weapons, armor and items when the Taken King goes live. Make some room in your inventory for all of them by getting rid of any old legendary gear and other items you don’t want. You should at the very least move all that you can into your vault so you’re not running out of space while out in the field.

  • Complete the sub class quests. The sub-class quests were introduced with Patch 2.0 and require you to complete a set of bounties in order to unlock a special class item that can be used once you hit level 40. You might as well get them done now and guarantee you’ll have a t least one piece of top level gear when you reach the cap.
  • Load up on snacks. Nothing is worse than suffering from the tummy rumbles mid-way through a strike. Ensure you are prepared at a moment’s notice by loading up on your favorite snacks and beverages. If you’re unsure what to go with might we suggest something that doesn’t leave it’s remnants on your hands, inevitably ending up on the controller. Doritos may have been a staple back in the day, but technology has provided a whole new world of clean hand snacks.
  • Get in some strikes and crucible matches. The Taken King is coming with a whole new chunk of story to explore which will most likely leave you with little time to paly crucible and/ or strikes for a day or two. If you’ve got the itch for one of these activities you best get it scratched now.
  • Make sure your game is up to date! Patch 2.0 was a whopper and will take at least a couple of hours for most internet connections. Login now to get your game updated. There’s nothing worse than getting excited to jump into a new game only to be met with a 20gb patch that needs to be downloaded first.

  • Complete bounties but don’t turn them in! Destiny 2.0 works off of an experience system like it did pre level 20 meaning bounty experience can be used towards getting level 40. Fill your quest page with bounties and complete them all. When the Taken king launches you can then turn them in for an instant boost of experience that will have you well on your way to 40.
