Defiance

Developed and published by Trion Worlds, Defiance is a third-person shooter that attempts to break down the barriers between entertainment mediums by being the first triple-A MMORPG with a direct link to a prime time television series of the same name. Through a partnership with the SyFy channel, Definace allows players to follow the story of key characters in the weekly television program, while their in-game actions have the potential to impact certain aspects of the series over time. In many ways this takes one of the base aspects of ARGs (alternate reality games) and distills it down to a more direct consumer experience.
