True to the lore, this Deity gives focus to the elements and uses them to reward his followers and to punish his enemies. Any that choose to align themselves with Karana will feel the full force of nature at their side!
Each quest in this series takes you closer to proving your loyalty to Karana.
Just like the other deity quests, this series has a minimum level for each quest and is something that you should prepare to do throughout your leveling career. Higher level characters may progress with little hindrance.
To get started, simply locate the prophet of Karana and start the quests!! Karana is neutral, so anyone who wishes to follow him, may.
Good luck!
Askr, the Karana prophet (loc 2336, 38, 1054) is found near the Gorowyn Beach entrance to Gorowyn. Speaking with him will give the option of choosing Karana as your deity. Once you have chosen Karana, you may not take on any other God until you have renounced your current faith by right clicking on the altar and choosing "Renounce your faith".
Forging a Bond (Level 23) - In order to conduct the ritual that Askr needs for you to perform, you first need to collect the staves that are right there next to the altar. You will need to place the staves at altars around Norrath.
The first altar is in Thundering Steppes along the shore cliffs directly southwest of the docks. Place the stave, defeat the elemental, then remove the charge stave.
The second altar (loc -843, 90, -66) is in Greater Faydark halfway between the Crushbone Mount Station and the tunnel to Crushbone Keep by a small pond, on a rock. Just as before, place the rod, defeat the elemental, then remove the charged rod.
The third altar is in Maj'Dul on the Stargazer's Plateau, just through the front gates, up the stairs and behind the tents on the southeast side. Same song and dance as the previous altars! Once completed, head on back to Askr.
Reward: Faction, and the Humble Altar of Karana.
Steppe by Steppe ( level 35) - Now you must recover the Shard of the Rainkeeper. First you will need to find the Tomb of Te'Anara, this is in the waters directly southwest of the Coldwind griffon tower in southern Thundering Steppes (loc 393, -82, 1435). After discovering the Tomb, you'll need to examine the 3 of the bags that are on the ocean floor near it.
Now you must find the unkempt druids. These guys are out near the Ruins of Varsoon entrance up on a ledge in the cliff (loc -690, 12, 554). Speak with the druid, then get the key from the chest, you may have to deal with some of the druids, but they are all soloable.
Return to the Tomb to open it, then retrieve the shard, then back to Askr.
Reward: 2g12s, Faction, and Karana's Amulet of the Gail.
Shards of Frost & Fire (level 45) - Askr now requests that you retrieve the Shards of Pines and Storm Reapers in Lavastorm and Everfrost. First find Sumarvaldr (loc -66, 0, -478) in Lavastorm. He's located west of Sol Ro Temple in the Solusek Valley. Hail him, then defeat him.
Then move on to Everfrost. Speak with Faythwen at the camp near the Everfrost dock. She will tell you that you need to kill Arnbjorg found outside the Kromise Cave near the Permafrost zone. Then you need to kill Gudrun, he's inside the cave at the little branch off. Once you have both halves of the shard, examine one half to combine them. Return to Askr!
Reward: 4g8s, Faction, Summon: Elemental of Karana (+WIS).
Sticks and Stones (level 65) - Askr tells you that you need to place the staves around Kylong Planes. These are all along the same coast line in the same general area up from Kunzar's Edge. If you are familiar with this area, I'd look for these in reverse to save time, but I start with Kunzar's Edge because its a good point of reference.
The first location is on the waterline at the outpost at Kunzar's Edge (loc -1351, 1, 477). I swam west from the Kylong Dock to avoid the mobs. You are looking for a small blue stone on the ground, right click to place your stick.
The next spot is north from Kunzar's Edge amongst the mudfins (loc -1407, 3, -188).
The last one is found on the shore just northwest of the last location at Point Break. (loc -909, 9, -331). You'll see tatterback gorillas around this area.
Place the crystals around the summoning circle. This is found above and to the northeast of the outpost at Kunzar's Edge (loc -1447, 53, 354) right next to the first Iksar statue. An elemental will spawn near you, go to it to make it turn attackable, and run back over to the circle, then gather your shards. Return to Askr.
Reward: 1p6g12s, Faction, and Askr's Altar to Karana.
The Stormfather (level 75) - For your last quest, you'll need to go to Lake of Ill Omen in Fens of Nathsar to the altar (loc 146, -119, 145) on the Lake's east waters edge. Use the seeds in your inventory to summon Askr and interact with him. He will continue to perform the ritual while you fend off two waves of mobs. Each group has a few mobs, they were blue and white to me at level 72, but they could scale.
Reward: Cloak of Storms (+ to spell and combat damage) and Faction.
