style="font-weight: bold;">
Utgarde Keep was once a long abandoned fortress in the cliffs
of Dagger Bay in the Howling Fjord. However, the vrykul half-giants
have been taking up position within the keep and causing trouble to the
surrounding settlements. The vrykul appear to be allied with the
scourge and are launching attacks against horde and alliance
settlements in Northrend.
From within the keep, the Dragonflayer clan builds all sorts
of neat things that go boom all in the name of the slumbering King
Ymiron. How he can be slumbering with his men blowing up the
countryside is a good question, but still he slumbers.
Ingvar the Plunderer commands a force of proto-dragon riders
that descend on unsuspecting enemies without warning. Nothing like
walking along minding your own business one minute and then having your
head snapped off by a swooping dragon the next. Ingvar's forces deliver
death from above by means of force and arcane magic.

Vrykul
The vrykul are a Norse-like half-giant race. It's said
that in
ancient times the vrykul once founded a vast civilization and one day
they mysteriously vanished without a trace. No one knows why they
vanished or where they went in the thousands of years that they have
been missing. The only remnants of their once great civilization were
entire villages and temples left abandoned.
When the alliance and horde arrived in Northrend they were
met by the mysterious return of the vrykul who began to attack both
factions settlements. Their motives remain unknown, but they have taken
up residence in Utgarde Keep where they launch their attacks against
horde and alliance alike.
Some insight is offered into the vrykul and their link to
humans in the completion of the quest Anguish of Nifflevar
that states...

style="font-weight: bold;">
The Dragonflayer Clan works from within Utgarde Keep
constructing weapons of war for use against the alliance and horde. The
clans dragon riders are commanded by Ingvar the Plunderer and they are
responsible for many attacks against the nearby settlement of Valgarde.

style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">Prince
Keleseth
Prince Keleseth can be seen in a vision for the quest Out
of Body Experience where Prince Keleseth, Prince Valanar,
and Prince Atherann resurrect Archmage Arugal to serve the Lich King.
Now Prince Keleseth serves as the scourge overlord of the Howling
Fjord and vrykul ambassador in Utgarde Keep.
He is one of the more formidable foes residing in Utgarde Keep.
Skarvald
& Dalronn
style="font-weight: bold;">
Skarvald the Constructor is believed to be heading up the
project to build a secret tunnel leading from Utgarde Keep to
Gjalerbron where scourge and vrykul are carrying out rituals to raise
fallen vrykul as undead warriors to serve the scourge. Skarvald is kept
company by Dalronn the Controller. This necromancer is linked to
Skarvald. If you intend to attack one, you will have to deal with the
other. One can assume Dalronn is protecting Skarvald to ensure the
tunnel is completed, giving the scourge and vrykul a large advantage in
the area.
style="color: rgb(29, 66, 136); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;">Ingvar
the Plunderer
Ingvar the Plunderer resides in Utgarde Keep. From there, he
coordinates his attacks on the areasĀ settlements using his
proto-dragon
riders. Ingvar's raiders possess incredible strength and stamina. Some
have even learned to wield arcane magic that can freeze and shatter an
enemy into ice shards. The combination of arcane magic and flying
proto-dragons make these raiders a deadly force to deal with. Ingvar
resides in Utgarde Keep overlooking the land from a
balcony. When this foe falls he is resurrected by Annhylde the Caller
as a servant of the Lich King. Be wary when facing him.
