Details about the final Guild Wars 2 class leaked out earlier this week, but today ArenaNet has revealed more information about the mesmer. The mesmer is a master of illusion and deception and first appeared in the original Guild Wars, but the class has been given an update and has moved away from its support role origin to more of a magical duelist.

The mesmer can make use of Illusion magic to aid them in combat. The two types of Illusions, Clones and Phantasms, can be wielded against enemies, each capable of summoning illusions to aid the mesmer. The mesmer also possesses magic such as Shattering, which allows them to shatter an illusion for a number of secondary effects capable of either dealing damage, stunning or dazing confusing enemies and gaining a beneficial reflective barrier.

You can learn more about the mesmer on the Guild Wars 2 website and via a new interview with Game Informer.
