League of Legends players have been calling for more content to challenge their skills in PvP combat and Riot Games has answered. The League of Legends developer today revealed details about the largest content update for the game yet with Dominion. The update will include a new capture point map called the Crystal Scar, which will put two players against each other in a battle to the death. Victory is achieved by capturing enough of the five capture point towers to drain your enemy's nexus to zero.

On the Crystal Scar players will battle for control of five capture points, holding them to damage their enemies' nexus. The game ends when one team had seized control long enough to drain the opposing team's nexus down to zero. Battles last around 20 minutes, and focus on high-intensity, player-versus-player combat. If you've been looking for a fast-paced, high-intensity competitive gaming experience, this is what you've been waiting for.

Riot Games declined to give a solid release date for the update stating that they are taking a “when it’s ready” approach. The developer will be showcasing the new update at gamescom later this month. In the meantime, a teaser site has been launched for the update and you check out our look at the new League of Legends content as well as the new Dominion trailer after the break.
