If you haven’t heard by now, classes in The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) are getting a major overhaul in the upcoming Helm’s Deep expansion. This week Turbine put the Rune-Keeper center stage to lay out the planned changes coming in Helm’s Deep.

Given the Rune-Keeper’s unique functionality of swinging from healing to damage based on their attunement buildup, Turbine approached the redesign to keep this style of play in mind and, like the other classes, provided three lines to choose from:

  • Solitary Thunder: A line designed for mobile and instant casting with less range but higher burst damage.
  • Cleansing Flame: A line that relies more on damage over time with a longer range due to its induction time reliance. Cleansing Flame also includes healing support options.
  • Benediction of Peace: This line is for those that prefer to be more heal-focused Rune-Keepers, providing heal over time and damage reduction abilities.

In addition, the Rune-Keeper will also be receiving some changes to Attunement to encourage players to focus on the opposing side of their choice. Some of these changes include the removal of gated attunement requirements for skills. This also brings the added change of being able to use certain attunement cash-out skills, which now increase in effectiveness in relation to the higher attunement rather than requiring a set amount to use. You can get all the juicy details in the latest blog for more.

LOTRO's Helm's Deep expansion launches on November 18th, 2013.
