Earlier this month rumors leaked out that Mass Effect 3 had some new multiplayer DLC coming with the Rebellion Pack, which was rumored to have a release date set for May 16th. BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly shot down the rumor, but today the multiplayer Rebellion Pack has officially been announced and will be making its way to players on next week.

The Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack will include two new maps (Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia), three new weapons (Reegar Carbine, Krysae Sniper Rifle, Cerberus Harrier), new consumables and six new characters with the Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel and the Ex-Cerberus Adept and Vanguard.

The Rebellion Pack launches on PC, PS3 and the Xbox 360 in North America on May 29th. The new multiplayer DLC will be available to players for free (assuming you redeemed an Online Pass available with new copies of Mass Effect 3), making it the second free DLC release for Mass Effect 3. As for the single player Extended Cut DLC to address the controversial ending to the series, fans will have to wait a bit longer.
